CGI colossal in s2/s3 was atrocious. MAPPA s4p1 was a step down, but still good. S4p2 saw improvement with the cgi. S4p3p1 (lmao) was actually really close to peak WIT. I’m excited for s4p3p2. Also say what you will but MAPPA CGI colossal clears WIT CGI colossal.

It didn't ruin the show and I'm not gonna cry about it, but critiquing the show, Wit's animation is just better, you can make valid excuses for why that is but let's not go crazy here

In the interview, he talks about becoming a manga artist, the relationship between Askeladd and Thorfinn, etc. There are no spoilers beyond the season 1 story (War arc) other than Yukimura briefly talking about a character from season 2. There's also a funny part in the interview where the interviewer starts talking about his social media presence on Twitter, and apparently, Yukimura didn't know that GOAT stands for "Greatest Of All Time," and he didn't understand why people were sending him pictures of goats on Twitter.

Some scenes look incredible in season 2, and then some of it looks absolutely buns to the point where it negatively affects the viewing experience and I wish I was reading the manga instead. I miss Wit for Vinland even though Mappa is overall my fav studio. Apologies for the brutal honesty lol. Alsooo soundtrack appreciation for Somewhere Else, Intertwined and Troll. Extremely underrated I feel

You guys will love it!! Also, S2 is giving GOT dialogue and character development. It’s very slow paced but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. There are fights though just not as much as S1. All in all S2 has been just as good as S1 but for VERY different reasons. Idk it’s fucking beautiful.

As seaosn2 doesn't have a lot of fast paced motion to animate they didn't need to throw CGI to speed things up. VInland seaon 2 is my favorite MAPPA production, actually its the ONLY mappa production that i like. I dont like anything they put out but Vinland 2 was actually good. They tried to retain Wit's style the most possible. And more importantly there isn't that ugly CGI models of the titans in AOT every 5 minutes

Maaaan I love Vinland Saga, it's easily one of my favorite anime-manga ever. Season 2 is so good that I couldn't wait and read the whole manga and I can say that it gets better and better. The manga is still ongoing but it's on the final arc (tho who knows how long the arc will be xd) at least that's what Yukimura (the author) said.

If ending of season 2 is done right it might be the reason Vinland Saga will make it to my top 5 animes of all time for me! I love character driven plots and the character's inner battles/flaws/strengths that create their personalities/motives. Therefore, season 2 might not be for everyone, it just depends on what people prefer. Super curious about yalls reaction to season 2 and how you guys will perceive it! Also, a well known AOT rector named filmbuff made me love season 2 of vinland saga even more than I already do because he analyzes and highlights a lot things I missed while watching it the first time.

Vinland saga has such a unique vibe it’s unlike any anime I’ve ever seen it’s hard to put it into words other than what you guys said, “real”. Like it’s the type of real where you can meet these characters during the first season and then they come back in season 2 three years later and it’s like seeing an old friend from high school. You recognize them but certain things are different than the image you had of them in your head, kindof how they change animation studios. It’s just such a unique feel that no other anime has done except maybe AOT. But for AOT the fact that it has the fictional stuff with the titans it just doesn’t have the same feel as V.S. I love AOT more but V.S has a very unique feel to it. Thank you for attending my Ted talk

After rewatching on my own and with other reactors (like the goat FilmBuff 🤴) it immediately became an 11/10 for me so I think rewatching when its all out again later will make the experience much better because no waiting.

All of those shows I had the feeling of, "oh that was so good can't wait to see what happens next", whereas Vinland Saga the first half was the same feeling, but the second half it changed to, "what did I just watch did anything really happen" Yes stuff happened ofc but to me it was things that weren't of much relevance. We can disagree and again it is just an opinion, but it definitely is not just because I can't deal with something being "pushed back". I didn't bring that up to be the only reason why I feel that way but to just admit any possible bias I could think of. It definitely isn't the only reason

I think it's about trying to figure out what kind of future thorfin can have, season one doesn't put an emphasis on it, but he killed hundreds of innocent people. Can someone like that find happiness? Does he deserve it? It's a beautiful story, but it's a far cry for the action of season 1

All throughout the scene, I wanted to get my chessboard and recreate it to see how it would work. When King Sweyn stepped right infront of Askeladd, it was already a checkmate. 😂

2023-06-02 23:55:50 +0000 UTCMY OPINION ON S2: Ik this is a hot take and I just want to say we can disagree it is only my opinion, but the first half of s2 I was 100% with it and was confused by people not liking it even though the pacing slows down compared to s1, but the second half so far has been kind of a let down. Every episode I feel like something is about to happen and then it gets pushed back an episode and it takes way more time on scenes than it needs to with parts that are anime original that seem like they needed to hit the 24 episode mark when it could easily be done in 22 or so. It just feels way too slow. I do think that I have to be fair in that I picked up the show as s2 started so the difference in pacing was multiplied by having to watch only 20 minutes a week and that if I had waited I would just have thought it was a bit slow but still liked it overall but I will never know

I believe a lot of important people that worked on the first season, worked on the 2nd season as well.
