GOATLAND!

2023-06-24 05:26:06 +0000 UTCEpisode 5 might confuse the time line a little bit, so I made one really quick: -1014 February, Askeladd dies, that same year Thorffin was sold as slave at the age of 18. -1015 Canute goes to meet Eadric and tells him to kill King Ethelred -1015 June, Einar was bought by Ketil and meets Thorffin. -1015 September and October, episode 6 events happens. -1016 April, Ethelred dies -1016 November, Edmund dies (1017, In the Manga is mention that Eadric betrays Canute, so Canute kills him, but that is not mention in the anime at all). -1018 Canute becomes king. Hope this helps in case there are some confusions with that mention of 1018 on episode 5, since at the farm we are not in that year yet.

2023-06-24 01:20:08 +0000 UTCSnake is not Sverkel's grandson. I think Snake calls Sverkel grandpa because it's a form of title/respect to address an elderly. Snake is one of the retainer (bodyguards) hired by Ketil to protect his farm. Hope that clears up the confusion.

It's so wholesome seeing Thorfinn make his first friend since he was 6 and just feel at peace learning about the world from Einar and Sverkel. Einar is exactly who Thorfinn needed to meet on this farm. He has such a big heart and wears it on his sleeve.
