cannon is so based

leah

I really like the changes light went through. Light is definitely my favourite character in Death Note. I do miss L though πŸ’”

Jennifer Rivera

I think Mello and Near are code names, right? (L) (M)ello (N)ear Each student gets assigned a code name in alphabetical order. I am assuming.

Jag_227

I do like Near though!

A

I feel you Cannon lol. I usually don't feel this way in shows but it just didn't hit the same for me after L

A

Those are some tight pants brigg

DerekSniper30

L is definitely my favorite character and i totally understand the emptiness you feel Cannon! Even after watching it what feels like my 100th time, the emptiness never fades. πŸ’” Light, however is such a unique and amazingly well written character, i feel that you’ll never find another like him. He truly is the goat. I do hope you guys continue to enjoy the watch because it is truly amazing!

esie β™‘οΈŽ

Def let it cook, fellas. I do appreciate your honest takes, though. Lots of reactors just offer what they think the audience wants and shit.

Andrew Conyers

You guys should check out the deleted "L's funeral scene". It shows Kira's initial reaction before the boredom set in.

Hippopi

Whattt I need to see that! Where can I find it?

A_Daddy Daichi

As ppl have already reassured you guys in the comments, by the time you get to the end, it’ll be satisfying

Riya

this one is for Cannon but there is a movie where L wins and light dies for a alternate ending

Pressure

I mean they have a point. You cannot cram 50 dense manga chapters into 11 episodes and not lose something. That being said, I think the show is still good. And the ending is mostly great. But the second half would’ve been way better received if DN’s second β€œhalf” was similar length to the first half. They are nearly equal lengths in the manga after all (59 chapters vs 50 chapters).

ssj4rit

We only could guess about what you are wondering, since it didn't happen. We don't know where or when(in what point) they decided to prolong the Death Note so maybe even the Yotsuba arc was made to "prolong". But at least, my guess is, the authers were planning the different ending. Maybe there were the different ending where L wouldn't die. FYI, the Reversi in the "Bakuman" had the "dark hero"(like Light) and the "classic hero"(like L), and the ultimate ending was not about "who wins in the end?" but more like "rewarding good and punishing evil" so the dark hero dies in the end. I am not arguing where it was good or bad to have the second arc in Death Note, I was just offering the interesting infomations.(TBH, I liked the second arc)

DAI

(Spoilers ahead) @ssj4rit @DAI Oh, alright. I'll admit that I haven't read Bakuman so I wouldn't know. I'm genuinely curious, what would be the point (in terms of character writing) to end the story right after L's death? Death Note is a character analysis of Light Yagami. Every character serves as an instrument to explore moral dilemmas and the psychology of a corrupted individual (Light). So what purpose would it serve to end the story with Light 'winning'? The story would feel incomplete without a complete deterioration by Kira, so then it makes perfect sense for them to kill off L and continue the story. It added another layer to Light's psych profile by having him come to terms with the fact that his nemesis left a hole in his life. Because deep down he enjoyed the battle of wits more than the act of being "God of the New World". Yet tragically, he never realized that up until his last moments. So, even if what you're saying is true and the publishers pushed the mangaka to continue the story, I don't think it was a bad decision to do so. Hope that makes sense.

Far

Where did you find the link?

Nash

Trust the process guys! πŸ™

Ameth

Bro that scene always gives me chills, every single time I see it (along with Light regains his memories) so it was kinda sad seeing that none of Gek were really enthralled by it lol

Brian Estepa

@Far Ironically, L arc lasts 59 chapters and Reversii (the fictional manga in Bakuman) ends around chapter 60, so if anything you proved DAI’s claim even more lol

ssj4rit

It got leaked. Just wait till tommorow for the official release

AYAYAJUICER

ITS OUT ?

aweosmepossum

Just watched JJKS2 ep 1 10/10 episode cant wait to see everyones reaction

AYAYAJUICER

NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER GIVE UP

farkzzy

that shouldn't be a hot take, but it is because of L simps

Dio

How Cannon feels is exactly how I felt after what happened to Levi in the middle of AOT Season 4. It ruined the show for me. Just like L’s death.

AKA480.

Well, I just checked the official chapter count, and arc 1 has the 59 chapters out of 108. So yeah, that part is also wrong.

DAI

What does the "proportion" have to do with the auther's intension? The second arc has more chapters so it must be auther's favorite? THAT makes no sense. Did you know the authers of the "Death Note" and the "Bakuman" was same? Have you ever read the "Bakuman"? Because if you have, you would never say that I am wrong. If you ask any Japanese who knows the anthers, ALL of them would agree with me, how do I know that? because I am Japanese.

DAI

Carter it's not mini-L, it's lowercase L

Erich R

Respectfully, this is straight up not true. The "L" arc was a small portion of the original story if you go by manga chapters, so that makes no sense. The proportion is actually flipped in the manga, where most of the story consists of the "second" arc.

Far

don't listen other people about thhis part the end is worth it and this is arc is still interesting af

fatou

it all pays off boys you just gotta trust the creators and have an open mind

WSaburo

When Brig said he would kill the guy she told him not to worry about πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Dio

no worries,, we all felt that post L emptiness HARD. but the show switches it up nicely and the ending is INSANE so yall in for a ride. and near is my favorite character along with L

Ashley

you guys need to watch Ls funerial too.

Irakli Ekhvaia

Don't listen to the bots who cry about how it gets worse, it stays just as good until the end

Dio

Yeah even though this arc is rushed compared to the manga, I think the last 2 episodes are amazing.

ssj4rit

Fun fact. although this was never "specifically" mentioned by the authers(original manga), but they were planning to end "Death Note" with only the "L" arc. Not like all these other mangas that was forced by the publisher to prolong the ending so they could sell more copies, they just wanna create what they think the best is, with fast speed progression and the back and force of 2 main characters. However, they were not "strong" enough to push back the publisher, so this new arc was born. All these back story was later told in the "Bakuman" by the same authers. "Bakuman" is about these 2 high school kids who were trying to become the biggest manga artist, and in that process, they created the manga series quite similar to the "Death Note"(it even had two main characters with shinigami attached lol), and they pushed back the publisher's request to prolong the series, so they can end the series the way they wanted. It is a quite metafiction by themselves about themselves.

DAI

The shift was definitely hard to get used to, but I'll tell you this for sure. In my opinion, Death Note has the greatest ending in all of Anime. I think about it all the time and I watched it back in 2008

Lexi Browning

Ik😭😭

lynn

aot made them famous as reactors

Sean Carroll

yeah this 'restart' of the series is hard to get into but give it few episodes and I think you will enjoy last few.

Lukash

I was like Cannon when I first watched Death Note....I stopped watching after episode 27 but went back and finished it a year later 😭

Bibi

Lmao while I simp for L, Mckay simps for Light πŸ˜‚

Bibi

Near is my favorite character of the show! He has great personality, he is very calm, mature, confident, and serious. He hates Light (never praises Light as L did, and even berates Light when things go wrong lol) and is the one that really puts Light into pressure (unlike L, uncertain and too friendly to Light). His personality is actually different from L's and quite similar to Light's, which is very interesting.

hknguyen

are you guys going to do another poll after Chainsaw Man? or are you going to go off that list and watch FMAB?

Erky506

& don’t worry guys that feeling of not wanting to watch anymore after ep 25 happens to most people that watch this show. It took me a few episodes to accept L’s death and give the new arc a chance when I watched for the first time.

Xio’♑

Why is no one talking about the Lego set? It looks awesome! πŸ‘πŸΌ

Xio’♑

when Carter said mello looks like armin I was like what no way they’ve watched AOT?

lynn

my hot take is that is arc is very good, and Near is one of my top 3 characters in the series, also the visual of Light recognizing the feeling of being challenged by L or someone on his level is so sick

Toff

Mckay knows what's up. Light is the goat

Mia Malvik

Keep up the uploads I'm liking this :)
