2023-07-09 18:22:57 +0000 UTCi wasn’t talking about the manga hype or else i’d have specified that. the hype for chainsaw man in general is definitely less than attack on titan viewership and rating wise. i just don’t think it’d be fair for mappa to animate four volumes in season two (which were already gonna have to wait a few years for) and then after ANOTHER few years, come out with season 3 which would only cover the remaining 3 volumes. it just wouldn’t be enough episodes to make a whole season out of. i feel like the hype would die out if they dragged it out that long for such minimal episodes but that’s just my opinion

2023-07-09 15:34:13 +0000 UTCthey only ended up animating four volumes in the first season and there’s 11 total. i’m hoping for the second season they do it in 24 episodes so they can fit it all in instead of making it like 3 seasons worth. i feel like there’s a definitive point where they could end the second season at the end of volume 8 and then do the rest in a third season, however the hype for csm isn’t nearly as big as the hype for aot so i cant see too many ppl wanting to stay on board for all those years just for 12 episodes at a time if that makes sense.

The sheer amount and quality of character acting animation is basically unheard of for a TV anime. Shows usually sacrifice that aspect for the action but they really wanted to give their all for this.

Netflix released Part 6 of Jojo (another GOAT anime) in three parts, each part containing 12 episodes, and there was barely any response or hype for such an anticipated show.
