He has no ego, he doesnβt need to prove himself or compete with anyone (which also makes him different from Mello). Remember how depressed L was when he thought he was wrong about Light being Kira? Near is also collaborative and makes almost everyone, SPK and JTF, trust him, while even now people still say they donβt trust L (L also worked alone most of the time). But itβs true that the anime did Near dirty. The L arc has 59 chapters, and the second arc has 50 chapters. They put the last 50 chapters into only 11 episodes, so a lot of Nearβs scenes and analyses were cut, which could make you feel that he sometimes jumps into conclusions. Oh and Near wears socksβ¦

Misa was supposed to die that day, as in her lifespan was originally only 20 or so years. But Gelus intervened and his lifespan went to Misa's, meaning she lived past her determined lifespan.
