But saying someone must have a low iq to enjoy the show is not the best way to deal with those so called "braindead replies". Forcing your opinion on others is never the way to go, because especially in the internet, you only will get more replies, which aren`t really good for a normal conversation or debate. It is just a waste of time. Opinions can alter, there is nothing wrong with that. But condemning other opions is not ok. And this is not just aimed at you, but also at those who did the same with your opinion.

Gon always gets absolutely major power creeps that always ends with him beating whoever is way stronger than him and that’s unbelievably boring. Soundtrack was good but gets annoying after 100+ episodes of repetition. Gon and Killuas dynamic is unbelievably annoying. The fanbase is super annoying and repetitive. The villains are unbelievably uninteresting, they’re either bad because it’s fun and they’re super evil with no real reason why, or for the most braindead one dimensional thinking like the king chimera ant even though he’s supposed to be unimaginably intelligent. Other people like Hisoka are just annoying and overly anime tropey, along with most of the characters. I could go on and on, terrible show.

After watching the entire show, it is in my top 3 shows of all time. Togashi (the mangaka) is mad creative and loves video games, hence the video game-like feel that you got!! He is also the master of subverting expectations in a good way, and I really love his storytelling style, his characters in this show, and the connections he can build along the way that have huge payoffs later in the story, which is only possible in a long-running show. Hunterxhunter has inspired so many modern shows. And mad props to Studio Madhouse. It is indeed a love project, and the animation is great even 12 years later, not to mention the voice-acting, the music OSTs, everything is top-tier (I will leave it to you to discover as you watch). A cool detail - the voice actor for Mito-san (Gon's aunt) is the mother of Gon's voice actor in real life (Gon's VA is a female in case you missed!). Really stoked to enjoy the series with you guys. It may have a slow pickup, but I think AoT created this trend of having an explosive pilot episode, and many modern shows have followed suit. However, there is something endearing as well for a show to have a slow start and have a steady buildup as it goes on.
