CAA is good, but the pacing is pretty terrible. Yorknew is definitely the better of the two when taken as a whole. Makes sense too since Togashi started having his health issues around then and relied on his assistants for parts of it.

I mean, the narrator was needed because 1. It provides an unbiased overview of an event that is mostly comprised of characters acting on instinct and making decisions in less than 0.01 seconds. 2. It would be odd and unrealistic if characters monologue about changes they don’t even realize happening IMO I like the narration because it lends a poetic aspect to the arc. It’s a bit excessive at the start of the main event but finds a good balance around episode 116 onward.

the depth of content was fine, but the choice to use one narrator instead of just having each character monologue their own thoughts just got reaaaally tiring. the frequency of this was a bit ridiculous too

Chimera ant arc is one of the best anime arcs of all time. The themes in the arc are beautiful and resonating. Fights are peak. Peak HXH, only thing is it’s long but most of everything is needed tho. I get maybe yorknew maybe being someone fav arc, but chimera ant clears all other hxh arcs by far respectfully imo.

people love to praise Chimera ant but everybody has preference. Chimera ant is often said to be one of the greatest arcs in anime, but personally i didn't love it and not even my 2nd favorite arc in the show

Chimera Ant arc is controversial man. A LOT of people love it, but there are plenty of people who don't love it and for very valid reasons. It is all preference based on the kind of pacing, themes, characters, and general plot writing that someone enjoys. Like obviously most people love Chimera ant arc because it is one of the most intense plot lines, world building, and character development arcs. It is a very slow burn though and I can understand why people don't like that. Also, I know quite a few people who just don't really like all the ants and the investment of time into some of the side characters just isn't really it. I personally am kind of in between on the the chimera ant arc.. Not my favorite, but by far not the worst either. Heavens arena will always hold a special place when it is the medium of the introduction of Nen. It just peeks the curiosity of the viewer so well.

These episodes go by so fast. I’m so glad you guys are doing 6 episodes per week. This arc (Zoldyck Family arc) is most people’s least favourite. A lot of people don’t really consider it an “arc”; just a transition between the first two major arcs. It was only 5 chapters long in the manga.
