2023-09-04 20:50:41 +0000 UTC@Mysterious Figure I honestly admire the mere fact you continued to watch up until that point seeing how much you seem to hate this show so far lmao It isn't uncommon for people to really start getting hooked on HxH when the show gets darker (aka YorkNew or CA arcs), so I wouldn't automatically recommend people who don't like the beginning of this show to drop it BUT My guy, if you were really honest about what you said in your comment, then I'm afraid it's time to let go. Not even adressing your arguments (that I obv don't agree with), it is just evident that you are FAR from being on the same wavelength as this show, and that at this point, nothing about it will make you like it.

Not feeling the rELaX and wHo HuRt yoU comments though, brings back old memories.😂 Also, is his comment valid though? sounds like he is just projecting what he wants the character to be instead of what they actually are. Examples Leorio being a pervy old man, when he is a normal functioning teenager. Gon being an upstanding kid, when he is friends with an assassin and saw that assassin rip out a person's heart. Ohh and I bring up ATLA in comment sections of other shows just to troll the Gek guys because they throwing shade on One Piece in every video. Its all good fun.

Besides, they didn’t even know there’s a guard dog in the first place until they arrived at the main entrance. 2. Think of it as an older brother looking after his siblings. Kurapika, Gon, and Leorio have already been acquainted before the exam started and they became closer throughout the arc. “absolutely useless pervy guy” is too much, ngl 🥲 3. Gon has always been unhinged. 4. idk about everything being handed to most characters tho as we pretty much saw characters dying here and there during the exam. Although there really are phases that I didn’t find enjoyable But I see where you’re coming from esp. if you’re not a fan of classic shonens. Some people will like it; others won’t. The deal here is to watch it as in itself - fantasy. Putting logic in every little thing would of course kill the vibe of the show. I kind of see your points but at the same time, I also think you’re nitpicking just because the show is just not right up your alley (and that’s not to say the show is perfect). Even then, hope you’ll find the later eps or even arcs good. 🙌🏽

2023-09-03 17:04:23 +0000 UTC(1) The wolf clearly has a superior sense of smell and has been ordered to kill anyone who enters from any way except the main door. Besides, even if you 'bypass' the wolf and enter through the back of the mountain as you said, there are the butlers to deal with, so there is no easy entry for trespassers. (2) Leorio, despite his flaws is genuinely good at heart which is shown when he risks his life to save the sailor from drowning in episode 2, when they are in the middle of a storm. So he isn't all that bad, and he is a teenager himself, so not that old (in case you missed it!). (3) Gon being friends with Killua who is an assassin is a very unique personality trait of the MC, you can say he is biased towards people he likes and willing to excuse them, which can be both a strength and a flaw. (4) The Hunter exam was a test of their physical, mental, creative and psychological abilities, and clearly the best 7 out of 400+ candidates were granted the license. I can understand if the show is not your cup of tea, but I don't think these issues are valid!

Like these last ones with the wolf guarding the door... like why do they have to enter through the main door? They could have literally gone behind the volcano or somewhere on the side and climbed the wall, bypass the wolf entirely. Also, who would ever start being besties with Leorio way back at the beginning of this show? The guy is absolutely useless pervy older guy traveling with several kids... like please. I don't have all day writing examples... how is an upstanding kid like Gon excusing Killua being a literal murderer and being best friends with him? This show is all over the place. Gon is basically a cool personality but does nothing except tank everything with his face since the show started. Most characters don't really accomplish anything since it's simply handed to them. Even the hunter license was a handout. But ok, Im gonna keep trying to watch some more till stuff gets good as most people are saying. But man it's hard not to cringe

I have not come across a story/arc where so many aspects of the story have been balanced so perfectly as the CA - characters, stakes, development, crucial/pivotal moments, the role of chance or random elements in planning and execution, climax and most importantly, a sensible and well-rounded ending, and also logic and emotions. So many stories fumble most of these elements and very few get them correct! Also, @ssj4rit, the Kingdom's Coalition War was awesome, especially when they realize they are being attacked by all the other kingdoms (I hope I am not mixing the arcs here!)

2023-09-03 15:15:02 +0000 UTCIn defence of the Zoldyck family arc, the Zoldycks are a very well-known and famous family of assassins. So it was necessary to show what kind of people they would be, and they are clearly a bunch of eccentric freaks, which is not surprising as they are assassins. I love the dynamic between the different family members and the subverting of expectations in rescuing Killua - it seemed impossible in the beginning, but ended up becoming easy due to Silva (Killua's dad) giving Killua permission to leave. It also gave Killua the much needed assurance of Gon, Kurapika and Leorio's friendship - something he didn't have before when Illumi told him that he didn't have or need friends. Also, as Briggs rightly pointed out, it shows the level of power of the family, their butlers and servants in this world, nobody can touch them because that is just how strong they are! Anything more and it will go into spoiler territory... Also, note their names - IlluMi, MilluKi, Killua...the last two letters of the previous child's name form the first two letters of the next child's name!

Ofcourse that makes sense since this anime was aired during the evening time which is the golden time for kids so it was heavily altered to fit the audience. For example, that "confetti" thing at the begining of the hunter exam, where the guy's arm dissaper and turned into confetti, that was supposed to be Hysoka cutting off his arm with a card and blood gushing out. And as someone already mentioned above, Leorio was supposed to open gate 2 by himself, but they changed it to be more "kids friendly" by expressing the power of friendship. I still love watching it though. If you liked this anime version, I highly recommend reading manga version. it is way more complex nd well built, character building is much deeper. For the record, this anime's air time was shifted to mid night in the Chimera Ant arc because it was impossible to create this "simple/kids friendly" version in Chimera Ant arc. You might notice the big difference all the sudden.

Almost every single character is so ridiculous looking and unbelievable. The plot is basically always the same: 1. problem-> 2. on-the-spot-made-up-nonsensical-solution-thought-up-by-a-three-year-old -> 3. repeats indefinitely. So many things in this anime would never happen if the characters would just use common sense. I will keep trying to level up my patience skill a bit further since the xp gains are high with this show, and also just to see this "good content" coming up. Things like Gon and Killua are "close friends" after basically meeting just days ago for the first time LMAO... how am I supposed to suspend my disbelief when everything in this show is like this - basically the concept of the whole story is JUST BELIEVE ME BRO

He was able to open the first door by himself in only 10 days, by the 20th day he was able to open 2 at the same time. Kurapika and Gon were able to open 1 individually too. For some reason they decide to do it by "the power of friendship" here, so I have to speak up for my boys 😤

It wasn't my favorite the first time watching it, but the rewatch with friends hit hard and I realized why it was so great and it quickly became my favorite.
