i highly recommend finishing it. it definitely doesn't have a slow start, but it definitely gets better as it goes on. The final arc of S1 is one of the best arcs out there. S2 is not quite as good as it lacked some of the charm the first season had, but it by far has the greatest ending in anime history (last 4-5 episodes)

All those things were present, but my biggest issue with the live action is the dumbed down story. You forgot to mention the up-in-your-face camera angles as well. If the live action didn't have a massive manga and anime following, it would have flopped.

Actually, I would love to watch this show if the things I mentioned weren't such as they are. I don't hate anything really. I would be thrilled if stuff was up to a certain standard. But I guess it's easiest to attack a person instead of addressing their argument right? Maybe talk about the things I said instead of talking about me specifically? You don't know anything about me yet it's the only thing you talk about. It only shows you don't have anything to say about the things I mentioned? On another note, I am super impressed with the casting of actors in this show. Shame the rest of it didn't live up to a different standard. If you look at John Wick movies you can see the level of quality in fighting choreography and camera work that One Piece live action doesn't reach since they do like a half second move, then they cut the frame, then another half a second character motion, another cut, etc. etc... The whole action ends up being cut into pieces instead of having a believable flow so it just feels crappy.

@sighberian, we dont need to look far. just look at how dry and sparse the content is rn anyway.they cannot even branch outside the hxh and avatar rn it's amazing how u think they would check out others when they start those long ones and u ppl commanding to upload more vid per week, let's wait and see if they have time for other shows. cool for them if you would think they would have a steady increase of fllwers by watching a long series over years. and you said they should not let current patreon members dictate? okay i guess, they can reach far by waiting for the non-current future patreon members by ur words. and it's not like ppl here are forcing them to watch anyway. but the way u point it out, u are talking as if they dont do those shows, they wouldnt gain followers lmao, sure u can gain over 200k(like u mentioned) ppl supporting them over the years whilst they watch those long shows, they still can reach that amount if they only branch to other short famous ones over the period too.

I dont understand how ppl like One Piece live action. The fight choreography is so severely cut up frame by frame and the movement of the actors in those "iconic" fight scene moments is so unconvincing it's making me cringe so bad. You can tell from a mile away when they are being suspended on wires so much of the time, and the movement of every action is super slow and lacks any impact. Then the costumes look like cosplays, the environment in the show looks like it has been unpacked from a box literally a few minutes before it was shot. Nothing looks realistically worn down or used. Zoro puts a sword in his mouth and when you look at the sword handle its so clean and unused as if it was just unpacked from a box. Everything in that show breaks immersion so much it's unwatchable for me. Oh and the CGI is mostly horrible.

I disagree that it has a very slow start, IMO it has one of the fastest starts and plot progressions especially in the beginning. maybe you didn't feel well at that point in time and just lacked sleep...

@yoonbebe I mean you are basically proving my point. They shouldn't let current patreon members dictate what they should watch next. Influence? sure, dictate? no. Other than a few who are here no matter what show they watch, most of the members are here because they are reacting to a show we like, not because of what future show they might react to. Instead they should choose shows to react to based on overall popularity and their interest in watching those shows. The number of members they would lose with you, they would gain threefold or more if they were reacting to a show with a large following, e.g. the big 3. Also, you act like if they started to react to one of the big 3, that is all they would react to. They can still react to the smaller shows alongside it.

@sighberian well i was not talking about gaining members and subscribers, but since u mentioned about it, they will always get new fllwers when they start a new series ofc, your 200K number would be stuck for 3 years for them and i guess people like me who also want them to react to other animes wouldnt stick for them any longer because in those 3 years, there will be new good reactors like them popping up anyway. And then, ppl other than the fans of whatever series they are watching will likely get their interest lost in them. Because rn, i will not be patreoning them anymore since they are not watching what I am interested in so yea, if bleach and haikyu are here, i might prob come back but other than that, nah i will use my money elsewhere

Totally understand that. Avatar has just been a bit rough with scheduling so I can see how that would appear to be. I guess if we break it down, normally in a week we would have 6 hxh eps, 4 avatar, 1 jjk, and if youre a juicy tier patron there would be 2 nge every other week. We also occasionally post movies and additional content as well. If you could, let us know how you personally would change our content output!

@Shpitz Naruto, probably not, One Piece, yes. One Piece animation is a little goofy, but the story and themes are very mature. There's a small channel on YouTube I'm following of a literature teacher reacting to One Piece and she is loving the mystery, themes, characters, and overall story. Plenty of adults don't watch anime in general, much less pay for Patreon, so trying to appeal to the dad demographic isn't the brightest idea. I'm sure they will react to the shows you mentioned but I think it's further down the line because even a lot of people who love anime haven't seen the shows you mention and therefore don't want them to react to them before bigger and more popular shows.

again, I don't think you can speak of them as "good" as it's super subjective. would your dad like naruto? kinda doubt it. The same as someone in middle school probably finding VS season 2 boring to death. Doesn't mean the show is not good, just means it's not for everyone, barely anything ever is. I'd raise the point that 4/4 shows running on the patreon are what I'd consider shonen(HXH, JJK, EVA and Avatar) and I'm personally getting fatigued. as much as I'd love to see something like FMAB or mob100 later down the line I wish there'd be 1-2 other shows before. at the end of the day though I expect the boys to do what will be good for the channel and patreon as well as what they'd enjoy. I think the best thing I can suggest it to poll for which genre next (shonen, sports, seinen, mecha etc.), and for them to pick what they find interesting - as people are going to vote for things they watched, putting things like the big 3 that literally everyone in existence saw way ahead of other great less hyped shows like made in abyss, 86, psycho pass and a lot more that I think the boys could love

@Yoonbebe any one of the big 3 would bring in more Patreon members and would get them to 200k on Youtube than a bunch of these short shows. I've got no interest in any of the shows you guys brought up, and the only reason I'm here is because they are reacting to a long show HxH. I would much rather see them react to one of the big 3 than a bunch of these short shows. @Shpitz only watched a tiny bit of Naruto as a kid, but watched all 3 as an adult and they are still good, especially One Piece.

Honestly I can't see the group, especially Carter and Cannon sticking with it. People look at the big 3 and DBZ with rose colored glasses since we watched them as kids but as 20+ year olds they feel borderline unwatchable. Something being good is not absolute, and like most things something we loved as children most probably does not hold up more than a decade later

Yeah I agree with you on that. Every reaction group goes through a "drought" phase where they're stuck reacting to long ahh shows or mid tier mainstream stuff that I usually find no interest in. Obviously they can do what they want, and loads of people are enjoying it, but after vinland, I canceled my membership and am now waiting for them to start new stuff like 86, Made in Abyss, or Ranking of Kings. No hate, just patiently waiting for somethin.

From the ones I've watched I'd recommend 86(criminally under watched, I haven't talked to anyone who doesn't rate it highly), or Re/zero if you want to venture into fantasy/isekai

I mean I personally like patrons that watch less content because they maintain the energy to give fun reactions and their focus on hype stuff won't clash with other hype animes. Some people will start favoriting one anime over another and compare and eventually drop from excess content. But that's sometimes, not all the time.

I feel like I have a small problem with how this Patreon is functioning currently. It feels like there's a lack of content and it's partially because there is just less series being reacted to (less variety, especially if you're here for anime) but it's also because one of the shows is locked behind a higher tier. Doesn't basically every other Patreon funnel content from the highest tier to the middle tier (just usually with a delay of time rather than completely locking it off - that is to say, Juicy tier should get the live experience but the middle tier should get the VOD at some point.)? Maybe I'm just an idiot but I feel like hinted at also doing FMAB when HxH won.

There are so many legendary anime films that almost feel like required viewing for all anime lovers. You don't have to be super tied to just anime series most of the time.

Just wanna say you guys are killing it with simultaneous HxH, NGE, and JJK videos. Extremely solid lineup of 10/10 series. You can add me to the pool of zero interest for One Piece though. I feel like it will also hurt the channel immensely and pull way too much effort in the wrong direction. It's currently just under 1100 episodes long. That's about 40 (FORTY) full length series assuming 25 or 26 episode standard.
