I do believe it takes away from the overall experience since those expectations are hard to live up to. I acknowledge that this scene in particular might not have been the most interesting, but I still found it funny and thought it added to the story.

2023-09-16 04:48:58 +0000 UTCAbsolutely not true, in the manga I thought it was great. The humor really landed. It felt like a very welcome breather between heavier scenes. But in the anime, the timing was awkward so the jokes didn’t land, and the action was mediocre. The fight felt like filler.

In the manga, the flashback of Geto explaining Gojo's weaknesses was one uninterrupted scene, of which when finished, went straight back to the subway fight not losing a minute to breathe. In the anime, the storyboard oddly placed this flashback interspersed with the fight, and it was very annoying. You would have an attack, then flashback, then a punch, then another flashback, then a hype moment of Gojo removing his blindfold, then flashback again. It was such a jarring scene that really made the fight lose all momentum. Have the expositional flashback once, then don't let up on the gas pedal

I've loved the show but I don't have a problem calling out bad parts, much like Demon Slayer season 3 being a step down, I'm not gonna blindly excuse things bc I like the show overall. Idk what ppl are saying honestly I don't care really, I just know what I felt when watching it and it was kinda "meh"

That’s what I was trying to convey with my comment. CSM is also a good example. I’ve read the manga and thought the anime was an amazing adaptation, but since people were expecting so much from all the hype it kind of fell flat.

Because now everyone is expecting greatness all the time and waiting for specific moments instead of enjoying the full ride. The grasshopper for example would have been appreciated in the first season to show Yuji’s growth but now people view it as a filler. I get why it’s this way and a also do it, but I still think it’s unfortunate.

2023-09-15 06:18:21 +0000 UTCIt’s unfortunate that Japanese broadcast standards require so much ghosting and blurring of action sequences to avoid triggering epilepsy in viewers (goes back to an old Pokémon ep) but I personally think they take it too far. I didn’t think this ep looked bad at all, I can just tell the action sequences had a heavy amount of blur that made for some “what’s happening” moments and a lot of the crispness the animators spent their hard work on gets lost in translation with the broadcast ghosting. Can’t wait for Blu-ray’s of these flights

I prefer the grasshopper fight on this episode instead of the next one, in chronological order, Yuji's fight comes a little bit later, when Gojo's fight has developed a bit more. I recommend to pay attention to the time that we are giving when the scenes change, to not create confusion. Oh and probably you don't remember but black flashes cannot be triggered at will, otherwise everyone would use it all the time.
