2023-10-25 05:21:21 +0000 UTCThe pack and the condition is only set in his middle finger chain jail so Kurapika can use his other chains on any other enemy, he turns specialist and can use all nen types because he is from the Kurta and only when his eyes turn red. There is a deeper explanation in the manga, but simply put, Kurapika can use all nen types based on his affinity as a conjurer. So he can never be a strong enhancer like Uvo. Lastly, Kurapika is not OP since there is a big consequence for this power but it is said in the manga so it will never be shown in the anime.

2023-10-24 22:26:53 +0000 UTCthe chains reserved exclusively for spiders are the binding chain and maybe the judgement chain he used on uvo (don't completely remember) but the other chains are free game however most of them are based around utilizing other nen categories (like the healing thumb) so can only be fully used when his eyes are red

Everyone has several favorite characters in this series, but Kurapika is mine by a large margin. Also, it’s a common misconception that Kurapika’s powers only work on the Troupe. Only Chain Jail has this limitation. So yes, while Kurapika can’t jail non-Troupe members, he CAN fight anyone. And he can fight anyone while using Emperor Time.

Basically every general technique that isn't hatsu (your personal and unique ability) is a force of enhancement one way or the other, which is why Enhancement is considered the most balanced Nen type in both terms of offense and deffense. The reason Uvogin was impressed he didn't break Kurapika's arm the fist time wasn't because the latter was able to use an enhancement technique, but because a conjurator or manipulator shouldn't be able to use enhancement that effectively against a master enhancer, considering they can theoretically only use enhancement with up to 40% effectiveness.

At the end of the day a specialist is simply someone whose abilities can't be explained with any other Nen type, and that usually happens because they went through very specific personal experiences. It's also the reason why it's the only Nen type which you can become later in life, thought it's stated it's rare.

It also importance to note that Kurapika's Specialist status specifically goes through the trauma of losing all his clan. Specialists need specific conditions to awaken. The Kurta clan massacre combined with the Scarlet eyes are most likely what made Kurapika turn into a Specialist in additiion of already being born a Counjurer. SO no, no every Kurta could be a Specialist, unless they experience similar experience as Kurapika. nen responds to your emotional state and life experiences so the Kurta clan massacre was exactly the reason Kurapika is so strong. There are also various limitations and conditions for his eyes turning red that were not yet explained so its not that Omnipotent

Conjuring a shovel would waste his talent for making chains (similar to castro making a double) he is better off focusing on one conjured ability.

This power enables him to use all types of Nen at peak efficiency, mainly as a Conjurer. In the manga, he describes it using "Level," "Force," and "Accuracy." When he activates Emperor Time, his "Levels" in various Nen categories stay the same, but his "Force" and "Accuracy" shoot up to 100%. For example, if Kurapika's "Level" as a Conjurer is 10, and he switches to Emitter (his opposite Nen category), his "Level" there remains at 4. However, his "Force" and "Accuracy" in any Emission ability jump from 40% to a full 100%, making him a strong match for a Level 4 Emitter.

It's definitely an OP ability, but there comes EXTREME drawbacks to Kurapica using it. They don't go into it in the anime unfortunately, but it is revealed in the manga much, much later.

2023-10-08 04:35:10 +0000 UTChilarious seeing the very obvious inspiration gege took from hxh. kurapika with the kurta scarlet eyes, gojo with the six eyes. the scarlet eyes seem to give Kurapika the ability to utilise all forms of nen in a masterful way, the 6 eyes allowing gojo to understand and manipulate cursed energy so efficiently and use the limitless technique. the scarlet eyes being exclusive to the kurta clan, the 6 eyes being exclusive to the gojo clan. ik gege already said they took mad inspiration from hxh but damn after this rewatch is it so obvious, i actually love it😭

Instead, "specialist" is simply a unique category of abilities that does not belong to the other five categories. The misunderstanding that specialists can use abilities from all categories system from Kurapika's power（Emperor time), which is unique to him and cannot be replicated by other specialist Nen users. Specialist abilities tend to be more unconventional, hence why they are considered a distinct category apart from the other five system. Keep in mind specialist doesnt mean is the strongest category otherwise this show wont be the most balance power system as people said.

Also people always think that kurapika is only strong against the troop however so far we only know that the chain jail is conditional to the troop members. He was doing fine in his fight against uvo without that

He wouldn’t waste time learning to conjure a shovel, and his teacher said there’s no use wasting Nen and time to conjure ordinary items. I’m surprised some think you can just conjure whatever you want, not how it works lol. Kurapika spent months learning to conjure chains.

I just meant that using them being only available to him is an added layer, as he is only a specialist when they activate. Also togashi stated conjurers are the most likely to become specialists due to their proximity to it on the Nen type hexagon

Only chain jail is isolated to the spiders, he has five chains one for each finger. Also the scarlet eyes is a prerequisite for emperor time, it’s a pretty big rare restriction as he is the only person living with them.
