2023-10-20 18:24:06 +0000 UTCI'm surprised you are still confused about what makes Ed's alchemy so special usually a "normal" alchemist like his younger brother Al has to use a so called transmutation circle, it can be drawn or etched in different mediums in Ed's case, he doesn't need it for some reason Ed explained in the early episodes that the reason for it was "seeing the truth" or something along this line Also yes, only Ed is a state alchemist, Al is a normal alchemist
