Yeah I know the comic is old, I just feel Invincible worked fine without a multiverse plot. It's very easy to open up holes too. (for example, once you introduce infinite universes, it makes no sense there's only 1 guy with the power to open portals between them, or why there isn't utter chaos with multiverses interacting already). But I'm open to seeing where it goes.

just here to let you know, they did not jump on the multiverse train because everyone else is doing it. This storyline came out in the early 2000's and is actually really good.

I disagree. I think that can make a character multifaceted and more than just one thing. In the comic, Mark is immediately great at being a superhero overnight. He’s been reading comic books forever, he knows what to do, he has the perceived role model of his dad and his powers are he can’t fly and he can’t die. That’s why it’s such a shock when mark’s first real hurdle as a hero is fighting his father. Kirkman even talked about how one of the best parts of invincible is the normalization of crazy superhero stuff while also maintaining a sense of urgency in the more dire situations. In this episode mark complains about how whenever he’s invincible he’s constantly worried about turning into his dad for vague reasons that don’t make sense. In the comic, at this stage mark talks about how being invincible is what fulfills him the most right now and what makes him happy and how he’s determined to prove that to other people. Mark is such a whiner in this show. He was ready to quit at the end of season 1.

Highly recommend reading the comic, only comic I’ve read in my adult life and it’s insane how deep the story goes, especially since the comic began 15 years ago and was so ahead of it’s time. Also don’t worry about the multiverse getting too complicated in this show, it’s essentially just an arc (tho one of the best multiverse arcs I’ve seen in media). The overall story pertains to our Mark and dimension from the first season, and it gets so juicy down the line! Loll
