Emil, Do you not know what a significant other is? Here’s the literal definition of Significant Other: a person with whom someone has an established romantic or sexual relationship. They were literally romantically involved. Eve even confirmed this… so did William when they were discussing it in the car about his break-up. There weren’t just besties. 😭😂

It's understandable to not like her or be unable to be invested in her considering the end of season 1 which showed her being a bad person herself. She figured out Mark was a hero months prior to reveal and was basically testing him on whether he'd tell her a secret that was rightfully his to keep. She then proceeded to attempt to chest on Mark at a party and only didn't because the guy had a girlfriend and had no interest. She not only didn't apologize got that, but compared Omni man's betrayal to Mark's secret before just deciding to take it back. The point of her character doesn't invalidate the poor execution of it.

She’s being patient with Mark even though it’s been like a year, she isn’t prying or forcing him to get over his trauma. She isn’t trying to control him or get anything from him. She’s literally being every guy’s dream girl, even though she’s probably worried sick every time he flies off somewhere and comes back beat up. She’s literally being a normal person and people act as if she’s the one that’s obliterated an entire city. Lmao. The point of her character is to see if it is possible to have a healthy relationship without secrets when dating a super hero when you are a normal person. We saw how things ended for Red Rush’s wife and Omni-Man’s wife. Now she is being used to see if Mark makes the same mistake.
