At least he's not a total "Sub fundamentalist" who never actually watch dubs but critisize them with an unreasonable, overexaggerated distain and hatred

They must have wanted to start with an action packed first episode instead of how the manga started. I hate that line of thinking. P.s. The eng dub is greater than or equal to the jap dub 😛

I think voice actors are super underrated in the ways they can bring certain characters to life, and it’s really cool to be able to appreciate and understand the voice acting of certain shows in English because there are so many nuances we wouldn’t get in other languages (e.g. a lot of native Japanese speakers say some shows sound super cheesy and weird to them because it’s not how people would speak in real life, but as English speakers we wouldn’t even notice!)

They are going Dub becuase they always watch stuff in Sub and wanted to give Dub enjoyers at least one anime reaction in Dub… Also the poll literally said that the outcome would not determine what they chose to watch it in. It was just a poll to see what language people enjoyed the show in for their personal experience.

Now hundreds of eps in I feel bad for anime lovers who have never given it a chance it is amazing. Luffy is now my favorite MC tied with Naruto and the show is solidly one of my top animes together with Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, AOT and FMAB.

It's slowly setting the stage so each episode is better and better because of what's already been set. Which means it only gets better from here
