it was just boring to me. plus we had already seen the murderous intent in the exam arc, that wasn’t anything new. once they got through the testing gate it picked up a bit but it still wasn’t anything to write home about. it’s 100% the weakest arc

@twin turbo @ Gabriel I mean the importance of K**t. He showed up in the 1st Chapter in the manga, even before Gon. He is the one told Gon about Hunter and Ging. The 1999 anime had him in ep1. The new version can also do that. The 2011 version weakened their connection imo.

To be honest Greed Island is the last "Fun/Happy" Arc. Everything after this was no longer to be taken lightly as I typed this, currently in the manga there are no lighter Arcs existing. The boys have grown independently and those kids days and innocence that we had long ago is "gone" and same in real life.

haha all good! i’m glad we have different opinions, makes the discussions more fun. I’ll add some space here, I don’t think it’s a spoiler but just in case. I’m a sucker for good story telling and there’s that certain point in the arc where the narrator starts explaining literally everything that’s happening. From a narrative point, I don’t think it was excecuted well, it really took me out of the moment and that was a really, really good moment. The words of the narrator don’t do justice of what’s happening. Kinda reminded me of the opening playing when Itadori was having his breakdown. Sorry if you don’t agree haha 😅

Personally, next arc isn’t it for me like it is for others. There are things that were hyped to the nth degree but fell so short and were in the end, quite underwhelming. I do think there are some amazing parts and some that are my favorite in this entire series but I wouldn’t consider it to be the best of all as a whole, in my opinion. There is also a certain thing in the next arc that I absolutely cannot stand but nevertheless, I’m still excited for this arc to start contrary to my thoughts on it. I can’t wait to hear your guys opinions. 🫶🏻 Overall, HxH is just such a fun watch and is even more fun with y’all. 💓

The percentage of people that can even use Nen in the first place is extremely low, probably less than 1% of 1% of people, and the amount of Nen users that would ever even get to hold the card is like 1% of 1% of 1%. There are multiple steps to adquire this power and even when you do, is limited to only one specific island in the world. The only way you could use it outside is if you beat the game, at which point you literally have to become the first out of billions of people.

I would suggest you to watch ep1 of the 1999 version or read Chapter 1 in the manga before stepping into the next arc. You would understand better the importance of a character, also the emotion attached to him. That man told Gon about Ging and inspired Gon to be a hunter. I don’t know why the new version deleted such an important scene.

I love the genthru vs Gon fight sooo much, I feel like it’s one of the first times you truly see Gons selfish tendencies being showcased as insane and slightly unhinged rather than quirky and minor. The “insane” villain thought Gon himself to be just as if not more so. It’s just such a cool transition.

The next arc is definitely gonna be the one that Carter will like the most and it'll really show him why HxH is so highly regarded. I can understand why Brigg doesn't like it as much since their tastes are different (but I think Brigg still likes it). It's very grand in scope with tons of build up and pay off. It's nothing like what we've seen so far. It has many of the best moments in fiction IMO. Most of the criticism comes from people finding the build up boring, the narrator and stuff like that but I think Carter will love it

Just to clarify ... Breath of Archangel isn't as OP as you'd think. First, only Nen users can enter the game -- regular people like Battera's lover can't, otherwise he'd have gotten her healed long ago, no need for pay people to clear the game. Even if you make it into the game, acquiring Breath of Archangel is very difficult, it's SS-rank after all. You'll remember those dudes in the cave mentioned early in the arc, that you need to acquire all 40 spell cards in order to trade for one Breath of Archangel. Finally, the card is single-use (like the other cards). You use it to heal one person and the card is used up. So even if you got the card into the real-world, you could only use it for a clutch heal once. Many fans believe that these levels of difficulty in GI serve as Nen conditions, deployed by the game creators to power all the cards. That is, a card like Breath of Archangel is only that powerful *because* of its proportionate high difficulty, because of all the sacrifice/hard-work players must have put in, in order to acquire the card.

I'm super pumped for this upcoming arc, this arc imo is on par with Return to Shiganshina and most of the arcs in AOT season 4. Although it is paced very slowly but the payoffs are super worth it. Also Carter is correct, Dwun and his room are definitely based off that picture of Togashi lol.
