Yeah on IMDb it’s tied with aot as the highest rated anime shows at 9.1. Aot probably will grow higher tho now that it ended. But fmab definitely is just very consistent and a gradual show kinda like avatar how episodes get better and the plot starts coming full circle in the end. I feel that’s a big reason it has a high rating overall as a show.

Ik it's not the exaxt same, but Scar is the Zuko of FMAB. Tragic backstory that's driven him onto the wrong path, but there is still hope for salvation.

I think FMAB being the higher rated anime comes after you finish everything and think back at it and said "That was amazing" not for like individual arcs or things like that 🤔 it might not look like it "deserves" it right now, but I'm sure you will get why at the end of it.

Honestly, the thing I love so much about FMAB is that I think it tells the best singular story, in terms of a succinct and cohesive plot through-line, of any anime I've watched. It doesn't really stray from the main plot and there's really practically no filler, just all meat on the bone. It's harder to see the threads coming together at the beginning, but it just builds and crescendos, it's so sick.

I always watch sub, but gotta admit that this dub is pretty decent and that scene in the end made me tear up again, even tho it's not the sub.

That transition in this show of him reaching out his hand is when he grabs scars face and uses alchemy. That's one of the differences between this version compared to the other.
