But because of the name chimera ant and how nice it flows off the tongue, for some reason I guess that’s partly why I thought they were a real species. I’m so glad they aren’t because with this reproductive ability that the queen has, I think it defies natural law and the species would eventually rise to be the top predator destroying everything

Yes there are other factors that slow aging in this show’s universe, however its still a major aspect of slowing the aging process. Look at Bisky, she has used Ten her whole life to subdue her natural form due to the way she hates how she looks. So yes 50 years isnt much to most Nen users because if they use Ten and Ren enough it they stay young. Bisky is 57 but she looks 30🤷♂️

2023-12-18 14:33:17 +0000 UTCFor the Palm situation, there are two teams - Morel's students Knuckle and Shoot and the other team is Gon and Killua and Knov's student Palm. One team has to defeat the other and the winning team enters NGL to work with the punitive force - Netero, Knov and Morel. To win, Gon and Killua should defeat Knuckle and Shoot, and Palm will tag along with them. The reason she does not have to prove herself perhaps could be because of her ability (which we do not know)...some Nen abilities are really great for specific tasks (think about Melody's, very good for spying). Also, as others have pointed out, the chimera ants are an amalgamation of different creatures and their potentials. They can use nen instinctively and do not have to undergo the process of awakening their nen. As for the history of these ants, you will know as you watch, do not want to say anything more than that at the moment!

I know you guys have not watched a lot of anime, but Knuckle's style is very common, the whole style with baggy clothes and his hair style is how the delinquents(usually in a bike gang) in Japan used to dress, his whole way of speak too, so exaggerated, and rolling the "r" excessively and just yelling in general. But his personality reflects a pretty well known cliche in anime, which is a delinquent that is a softy but tries to appear cool and collected (a personality that's is call "tsundere" in Japanese) so you will often see him saying things like he is not crying but he is, so cute ♥️ Also, I don't think this part is boring :c

I dont want to be a nerd here to talk abt the ant biology, but just elaborate a little bit on “Chimera”. Google result: Chimera, in Greek mythology, a fire-breathing female monster resembling a lion in the forepart, a goat in the middle, and a dragon behind. The term "chimera" has come to describe any mythical or fictional creature with parts taken from various animals, to describe anything composed of disparate parts or perceived as wildly imaginative, implausible, or dazzling.

I wanted to mention that, as we already know, the Queen consumes other creatures and then gives birth to ants with a combination of the absorbed traits. For instance, Peggy seems to be like a scholar and is pretty smart, but is physically kind of weak, only really absorbing one "trait." Rammot is very strong but not the smartest, and so on. However, this is different for Neferpitou and the other Royal Guards. As Royal Guards, they represent the pinnacle of the hierarchy, inheriting these "traits" and advanced abilities from the highest-quality humans. The easiest way I think of it is kind of like power levels. The Guards got more humans with higher power levels, while the rest just got average-level ones. Plus, I'm sure it requires a lot more humans to produce one Royal Guard compared to one grunt. It might be possible to stack "traits" to create a super ant like the Guards.

If you remember, back when Gon and Killua first learned Nen, Wing explained to them that "Ten" helps you stay youthful and slows aging by stopping your body's energy from leaking away. The more you train, the more you increase the quality of your Nen, so it could be assumed that you could slow your aging down considerably as you get older.

Imagine if all 5 of you guys combined into one person. Sure you wouldnt gain insane knowledge right away but each of your knowledge/intellect can combine and understand more things easier. Say Brig is good at math, Mckay is good at science, Carter is good at english, Cannon is good at history, and Jack is good at foreign language. You combined as one person would be able to understand and gain knowledge on each subject at an easier level because you have all combined into one person rather than needing to rely on one another to cover those gaps of knowledge. The same concept goes for why they are so good at Nen, they have combined so many people’s potential Nen into one being so its gets exponentially greater the more the queen eats. So if she ate all 5 of you with your category of Nen it covers 5 different people’s Nen already. If she eats 10 Nen users thats the same as eating 10,000 people and we learned that eating 10,000 people with locked Nen gives a boost cause of the potential they could possible have. Anyone could be the next Gon or Killua, a 1 in 10 million person. So it gets crazy how fast they evolve and adapt to Nen even if the person being eaten hasnt unlocked Nen they still have that potential dorment inside their body. The vast amount of aura the ants now contain allows them to manipulate and use Nen on an easier level too. Thats why Pitou is able to use it so easily and create her own power within mere days of being born. She just has so much Nen that even if her understanding of it isnt the best in the world, the vast quantity she has makes up for the lack of quality she doesnt have. Sorry for the long comment its just so much to cover cause the ants are really complex👍🏻
