.F. .M. .A. .B. Episode 26

A PHENOMENAL EPISODE

Comments

RIGHT?! The dub version is VERY good. "Just you wait... WAIT FOR MEEEEE" is PEAK

Stanley Labissiere

Absolutely terrible take

Nkechi

I know this is old as hell, but opening the Portal of Truth, even when transmuting a living person, still requires a toll. Instead of using a body part or a sacrifice like last time though, Ed used Envy's philopher's stone to pay it. A stone made up of human souls to be used in the exchange instead, which is why one of the souls said thank you to Ed as it was spent on the portal. Truth is basically mocking Ed for reopening the portal, saying he's not even trying to get his body back because opening the portal would usually forfeit a part of his body.

MEW1023

bro really got eaten twice

Bababoue

damn bro, you spitting

JaJa

I’ve yet to see one reason why this episode HAD to be watched in sub. You people will cry about anything and literally not even know why. “Well I watched it in sub” who gives a shit

Kevin Harrington

Worst take I’ve ever seen. I can totally understand preferring the sub over the dub, but to say this dub is complete shit is bafflingly stupid.

Michael H

Me knowing it came up gave me goosebumps already and when it happened I was just so happy

ChrizzPlayzz

Gonna investigate this

Studio Geck

I'm not sure if this is why or not, but I do know this is my favourite dub

Rice Nottwice

I also have the juicy tier and they do have them up on here, search “tlou” instead of the last of us and ep 6 7 and 9 reactions should come up watchable!

celery

The whole irony of Truth taking Alphonse's body is like a twisted joke. The child who sought the embrace of his mother had his entire body taken away. The mom who dreams of having her child back loses her womb in the process. The one striving to step into the future has his leg taken away , just as he takes that step forward. Wanting to resurrect the dearest family member, the only little brother gets snatched away. And in the pursuit of clutching onto his brother's soul, Truth takes away the right hand that drew the blood seal. It's like a cruel play where each desire leads to a loss, making the whole quest for truth painfully ironic.

Isaac L

It still says I need a membership so idk whats up with it. Also I didnt realize there are 9 episodes of the show. So even if I could view the fifth one they never uploaded episodes 6-9. I guess I’ll just have to wait or watch the edited ones on youtube🤷‍♂️

Jed

I noticed that too I think they have it on here twice I found it by searching for it with last of us I think

celery

Merry Christmas fellas! Also wanted to point out that Last of Us episode 5 is bugged. I'm a Juicy tier member and I cant watch it. When trying to play the episode it says I need to be the "Uncut" tier for $3 a month.

Jed

merry Christmas

Maximum Homerdrive

Merryyy. Christmas

Saidah

Merry christmas guys❤️

Tonis Tarc

"Truth is just truth" 💯 agree Sometimes I think about it this way, in both fma and in real life context: Truth can be your ally or enemy

corLeonis

Ed has to be like top 3 biggest brained protagonists in anime that I've seen, he's such a savant about alchemy and picks things up crazy fast

Hunter Snider

Ohh man I’m so excited to watch this 🔥 one of my favorite episodes

Alyson Loza

This end scene is one of my absolute favourite scenes in the show, kind of makes me tear up whenever I watch it. Ed breaking back through the door just to tell Al’s body he’ll save him is such a cool moment. Also you guys made some really interesting comments this video which tie in so well to the show’s themes and the ending, but I won’t say what 🤫

MissJodles

Idk if anyone else agrees but I feel like dub voice actors usually say their lines like rlly breathy and like whiny??? Which always throws me off but this cast (with the exception of a few characters) don’t make me cringe in that way

celery

I might agree with u if this dub was accc bad but it’s not I acc prefer a lot of the voices in dub compared to dub especially al I think it just depends which one u watch first cuz both r equally good

celery

They paid for like 2 or 3 decent voice actors and used unpaid interns for the rest. There is simply no way any other scenario is true. This genuinely sounds like my dumb buddies and I voiced the characters while drunk and not giving a shit.

Kyosuke Kagami

Cannon: Do you think they're gonna tone down the pacing a little bit? "Well yes, but actually no"

Gilded Jackal

It's an equivalent exchange and Ed used envy's stone as a toll to pay that exchange to open a portal back to the human world. Everything needs something equivalent for alchemy to work unless you have a stone.

LuvStarburst

27 is a recap but it's still an important watch. It goes over the main themes so far and we see more of a certain character in it

spring deerling

I always get goosebumps with Ed seeing al again in the portal. And him busting through the door just to tell him to wait just a little longer. The ending theme creeping in to play, it's so good. Father did open the portal and I think gluttony was an experiment for him to make his own free use portal. The reason eds body wasn't destroyed this time was because the toll for opening the gate was already paid by using Envy's philosophers stones. I think truth and the portal is a reflection of those who open it and that's why he has eds limbs, and I think it's also a cruel reminder of the sin committed. The doors for each of the brothers also hold their own symbolism that represents them. Truth doesn't have a motive. Truth is just the truth.

spring deerling

I love this episode, the end scene it's so good. Always makes me tear up ♥

Melizé

Also, even though Bradley looks the oldest, he is actually the youngest out of all of the homunculi

spring deerling

Bradley ages as a homunculus unlike the other ones because he only has one soul in his philosopher's stone. His explanation was that when the philosopher's stone was injected into him, all of the souls were fighting for dominance over the body and only the most wrathful one survived and became who Bradley is. He doesn't know if that's who he was born as or if it's just one of the many ones that was in the stone that won out.

spring deerling

Shits actually the best dub in anime but ok 😂 homie is pressed over a dub 26 eps in, idk maybe get a life?

M2GZ

'criminal' - bit dramatic🙄

Lisa Marie

God this is so disrespectful… Stop trying to ruin this for them and let them watch the show how they want to watch it... Could you imagine going to a movie that you paid to see and a guy sitting behind you is just complaining and yelling that the book or another version of that movie did it better while YOU and everyone else there are actually having fun and enjoying it?

Mason Schutz

i love the end scene so much 💕 people will have their opinions on the dub but imo it’s one of the best ones. ed’s voice actor is the only one that’s a bit shaky to me but other than that i think each voice fits their character 🤷🏽‍♀️ just an opinion from someone who watched subbed anime since the womb lol (besides toonami/4kids)

Joydan Bri’an

The orchestra soundtrack at the beginning (I think it's Conflict in the North?) is one of the best soundtracks. It's got such a good rising tension in it without being overbearing.

metalgearbear

The conversation at the end, it's still taboo because they're using the souls from Envy's philosopher stone to perform the human transmutation and open the portal to truth. Ed didn't sacrifice himself, he only transmuted himself to go into the portal, with the goal of getting popped back out into reality.

Nick K

waaahhhhh, keep crying cause this his hilarious now how pressed you are about an anime dub

metalgearbear

Fmab is one of the best dubs except for AL, that's like saying death note dub is bad

Goatchis

I'm just gonna say it, the dub is complete shit and it is an absolute travesty that you are watching this for the first time dubbed. The one and only L so far on this channel, but a criminal one for sure.

Kyosuke Kagami

Carter W about that soundtrack. So underrated. Sounds like a Mahler piece

Mia Malvik

yeah the dub was a solid choice for this anime. honestly it wouldn't be a bad choice for bleach either (if you choose to watch it), urahara —basically the gojo prototype except not nearly as OP— is great in both dub and sub

Maximum Homerdrive

you should watch the Charles Cornell video where he breaks down one of the songs from this soundtrack

Maximum Homerdrive

Thank you for watching the last scene with the sub! I made this request a few eps ago and I thought you guys would maybe forget about it, but you didn't! Thanks a ton! Just echoing some of the comments already made here, but theoretically, Ed and Al can get their bodies back quite easily if they had a philosopher stone. Problem is that they think it's morally wrong to use other people's souls to fix their own mistake, even though these souls are now just "a source of energy", as Envy said. Still, they cannot bring themselves to use human lives for personal gain, which stops them from getting their bodies back. Their main challenge, now that they know what the stones are made of, is finding an alternative way of doing this without relying on the power of the stone.

AnonX

let’s go!!!

IchiGoat

this where things pick up

IchiGoat

It was more of a hunch Ed had that Al's body was there, but now he's seen it and knows that it's accessible through his own portal. The issue right now with them going back to get Al is the moral conflict within Ed and Al. They committed the taboo themselves so they don't feel it would be morally correct to sacrifice another soul to correct this. The end scene is so iconic. Gives me chills every time.

Really hoping you guys reacted to episode 27

Alex Ramirez

For MCKAY to use: this tells you every ep with a post credit scene + a little description of the scene. Helpful to know which scenes are super important to the following episode! (This thread contains SPOILERS) https://www.reddit.com/r/FullmetalAlchemist/comments/2qhqce/til_there_are_postcredit_scenes_towards_the_end/

Tiga

Excited to see ep 28! Reminder to watch 27-28 together bc 27 is a recap.

Tiga

Love the ending with Ed!

A

I love how they reuse scores to set the mood/scene too Carter! I'm also a huge sucker for a good score. Akira Senju (the composer) ended up being in my top 5 for spotify wrapped this year 😅💀 Also Bradley and Scar's backstories are my favorites in this series

Tiga

FullPeakAlchemist Actual GOAT anime

BrianTheWoeful

This show has such a consistent quality to it, and it is so well written in terms of both world building, characters and plot. I really like how the story in large part is unfolding by having a bunch of characters move in accordance with their own motivations, it makes developments feel natural and unforced. The urge to bingewatch is real, so much goodness to come 💀

Asbjørn Kennedy

What a nice surprise!

HikiFan

Have yall ever considered buying a PS5 to play God of War, God of War Ragnarok, Spiderman 1 & 2, Ghost of Tsushima or anything of the sorts? If not I'd highly recommend them! Im not one for console wars type stuff but the exclusive games on Playstation are crazy good compared to Xbox. This is also coming from an Xbox only gamer until 2021!!

Jed

I've been so busy doing interviews I haven't watched the last two EPS. But I'll comment what I wanted to about philosophers stones here since it's the most recent and I know what the other EPS covered. Basically in my opinion philosophers stones are just batteries! They look like they're performing miracles and ignoring the laws of equivalent exchange but the sacrifice part of the exchange has already been done. They're just pulling the energy of those sacrificed souls to use. That's why when all the energy is used up the stone breaks. Its not because it was imperfect like Ed thought in the early episodes. That's also why the homonculus seem immortal, they're powered by hundreds of souls and damage to them just gets healed by burning through the souls! Can't wait to catch up to this ep. It's so so so good

spring deerling

You still have to have an exchange in order to transmute yourself, that’s why they used the philosopher stone. So it still wouldn’t be an easy solution to get his body, they’d need to sacrifice something or use a philosopher stone. Edit: watched ur discussion and ig y’all knew this already lmaooo
