JJK is good with it's own style it doesnt need couple of episodes for just characters talking. But I already feel attached to the characters than most of the shows I have watched.

What most reactors do if they are that scared of watching openings is wait until the arc is complete and then watch it. It’s still a win-win. And being honest, some people join your guys Patreon to experience all parts of the their favorite show with you guys. That means the openings and endings too, not just the episode itself. The thought of them waiting potentially a year just to see you watch an OP or ED can be a bit unfulfilling. For example, people have been waiting months for you to watch the Fullmetal Alchemist openings (of what you seen) and you didn’t even watch those. Would that mean they would have to wait until December 2024 for your next OP reaction? You don’t have to have all the answers now, of course! Ha ha! But I do think it’s worth considering when it comes to your audience in general.

At the end of the day i don’t feel like it’s that big of a deal, but I do appreciate the feedback because it helps us make better reactions, thank you!

I like not knowing anything and being surprised so that’s why I’m an anime only kind of gal. Even with new characters coming in I just would rather go in completely blind 🤷🏾♀️ I think I do this because I basically stopped watching any movie trailers or read tv/movie synopsis a few years ago.

2024-01-03 02:01:32 +0000 UTCGlanced back here and saw some of the comments and oughta say I lk agree with all points really,,I noticed several people mention about how seeing them all outta context like this does feel like it kills the vibe a bit but also several comments mentioning potential spoilers and such (personally I also kinda agree with the idea that they're there to build hype and set the tone and stuff + the context is what really gives them life but I also see the whole reaction channel standpoint of it like the commenter szeths edit above mentions) So I was wondering if yall might consider the option of just waiting to watch the intros/ endings on the last episode containing them before it switches to a new one/ the anime ends? I feel like that would keep more of the vibe alive then while also avoiding spoilers while viewing and then still leave room for if yall actually still wanted to rank em all at the end of the year

I hear them and it reminds me of what happens that arc cuz I hear it before each episode and that connection is there. Idk if I'd have it if I only listened to a song once at the end of the year. For example, when you watched the 3 Solo Leveling trailers, the JJK Shibuya trailer (that had the OP song and actual anime footage), and the AOT final trailer, did that not give you leading information about what the show(s) were going to be about? If you were that worried about ruining the story for yourself by watching an OP, I’d assume you keep away from things like trailers too. Especially since those even have dialogue. At the end of the day it’s your choice of course.

And I was excited to see how they would do it. But to see how the only thing that they did over and over was just talk about the spoilers they found over and over and then say “you see, this is why I will never watch anime openings. Look at all these spoilers!” Or “WHY WOULD THEY SHOW THAT?” Or “Seriously? I can’t believe they would add that.” It just ruins the experience now that you know what revolves around those moments shown.

And while I do think OPs more often than not add a ton to the watching experience from creating hype or setting the mood, and I personally would like for the Geks to see them, I think even moreso that the decision lies with themselves. Why do people act like they would know the full scope of a story just by seeing a 1 second sequence. It’s so weird… Edit: I’ll admit that I am taking this more personally than I probably should be since my wife is an animator and also creative director and I know how it irks her to know that people skip things that so many people spend literal months making. Even if it’s 1 minute and 30 seconds, months go into making things like this. Sure, you watch it later but you watch it once the mystery is gone and you have the full picture. There are no more surprises for you when you watch it at the end. There are no Easter eggs. There’s just visuals for a story that you now completely know.

The Vinland one consistently gives me chills at the part where the hands reach up to grab Thorfinn (plus I love the song). CSM I think is one of the most visually and audible interesting ones, and I heard it on repeat for weeks when I first got to know it. Honorable mention goes out to all the Vinland and JJK openings though, especially JJK1 and Hidden Inventory.

2024-01-02 11:55:02 +0000 UTCAlso not sure if this is super convoluted (probably is) but would love if you guys gave ratings separately for the music, the visuals/animation, and maybe something like the "vibe"/how well the opening captures the spirit of the show or season, as well as overall rating. Just a possible suggestion, I know it probably over-complicates things 🤣 I know you guys aren’t as big fans of Demon Slayer compared to the other shows, and the opening visuals aren’t anything too crazy, but I was surprised how low you all rated the S1 opening when Gurenge by LiSA is considered one of the best anime songs of all time! Definitely check out her performance of Gurenge on The First Take on YouTube, it has 135 million views for a reason, her voice is INCREDIBLE!
