I feel maybe this could be thought of as me being optimistic, or maybe delusional LOL? But if I have already managed to watch almost a 100 of these, I will probably wait till I get to see Gon's dad show up, if that ever even happens. Gon is still a character I DO like in this show, or I should say, his attitude towards life.

I mean I get that you're curious about those so-called peak moments in the show, but it seems like Togashi's writing in general seem to be a bother to you. My dude, if you aren't at least on board with that, the peak moments won't really do much for you. They might impress you at best, but will never magically change your experience on this whole show, and it seems pointless to torture yourself that way just to get there. HxH already had a bunch of moment that I would call "peak", I know this arc culminates in a pure masterpiece, but again, you're not gonna see it that way if you haven't connected with the show so far. So yeah, just curious about what really keeps you going. Because for me, not matter how many people praise or adore a piece of media, I'm not gonna waste my time and life trying to finish it. Not that I don't force myself at times, but at some point, you gotta just let it go y'know? And it's been almost 100 episodes...

2024-01-07 05:31:28 +0000 UTCI feel it has most of that (I’d agree the soundtrack is lackluster except for later in this arc + Yorknew, and Hisoka’s theme…and the OP and EDs). I also agree overhype is bad, I hate when people do this. I just want to experience a show on my own, I don’t need to hear 10x how this episode is gonna be awesome, just let me find out naturally. (Apparently the Geks like the hype though, which is fine, to each their own). Anyway, there are certain charms to HxH that give it value to some but could turn off others. For example, some like how different the arcs are or that Gon takes a backseat in some arcs. Others find it random and want the main character to have more agency and spotlight and victories. IMO I think HxH does have some strengths over Naruto (and vice versa), for example I think HxH does well in not fodderizing early characters and its power system like Naruto eventually did, but Naruto also feels more intentional in its overall narrative and less at the whims of the author’s current interests. At the end it’s just what your preferences are, sorry this show doesn’t work for you, I’m sure you’ll write some more rants in the future (and they will probably be tinged with a certain angry energy to provoke some other people, as much as you say you aren’t angry 😉), but maybe after that you’ll like the next show (Haikyuu gang unite)

I wish this show had awesome writing, character design, at least some sakuga level animation (at least once in like 20-30 episodes). It doesnt even have memorable music for me. Never once made me even tear up. I am still waiting for that moment everyone keeps mentioning... that PEAK... it never came for me... maybe the fans hyping something up so much does it a disservice for someone watching it for the first time?

I barely remember what the names of these Phantom troupe members are with how little screen time they've been given, and how little effort was made into thinking up and developing the intricacies of their abilities, backgrounds, stories, relationships. They were all bunched together into these two episodes to kill a bunch of nobody ants that nobody also knows the names of, and before these episodes some these members were barely even background dressing in this show. What a way to disrespect your own characters in a show. Since Im comparing this to Naruto, because so many fanboys of HxH like to say how much Naruto was inspired by this show, almost every important antagonist in Naruto was written and given so much space to breathe. There was no way you could not know what their name was after a single episode. They were given so much space in the story. They were also created with proper effort when it comes to thinking up their abilities, their background, their motivations, everything about most of them was deeply engaging to you as a viewer. On the other hand, the Phantom troupe guys in these two episodes... I literally fell asleep several times. What has the vacuum booby girl done since the start of this show except VACUUM and nothing else? Isn't the Phantom troupe supposed to be some scary organization... but you have some nerdy silly looking girl with a vacuum cleaner... like WTF... Oh... and now she also took her clothes of while fighting an incredibly detailed looking anus attached to a spider that squirts webs and has an extremely expressive face with lots of make up on and very big lips and eyelashes with a voice that should one shot any viewers ear drum in its path but we somehow survived... and then there's the pretty prickly cellphone boy that can only control stuff he pricks and can apparently go super sayan and end the fight in a second but why would he explain how he does anything he does in a show where HxH fanboys keep saying how the nEn system is so XompleX. Oh how so interesting and complex much wow brain cells multiplying already. The bandage mummy skinny guy has holes and plays music on himself and his backstory was told in less than 30 seconds and he also has boxer gloves for no apparent reason?? OH the award winning character visual design... why does it haunt me so... How are so many people giving this show so much praise is beyond me. These two episodes are literal filler level of horseshit. And I didnt even start to mention the godawful animation on display. (also, try imagining I was saying everything I typed in that anus spider voice so you get triggered even more than you already are)... maybe I roleplayed a chimera ant anus too hard XD

And Killua would need to be a similar age to chrollo based on their respective appearances in the flashback and the photo Also, there’s a post from some time back where the VA for Feitan showed his audition slides for the character which stated the character is 28 years old. So if you really think that the kid in the photo is meant to be the same age as illumi idk what to tell you. Also one final thing is that if Feitan really is the kid in the photo how tf did neither he or Killua recognise each other at any point during the yorknew arc. They even face each other at the auction with feitan not covering his face

He is younger than Milluki but older than Killua its just his genetics that make him short, Kalluto is also short so it lines up with the family genetics. Its legit never been confirmed or denied in the manga that Feitan is or isnt a family member. His name is Feitan Porter in the data books but it also says that he made his own name up… Thats even more evidence that he might be a Zoldyck. He even says in the show “family? what is that” Togashi is good at hinting things with certain things characters say, its done constantly throughout the entire series. Im not trying to confrim he is a Zoldyck I legit said in my first post its a theory. Idk why ur so butthurt about this, its a good theory with good subliminal messaging which Togashi is known for.

Most manipulator techniques work in a very similar fashion: you meet a certain condition, usually sticking some type of needle in your opponent, and then you have control over their body. The only thing that usually changes are some specific details, for instance, Shalknark can only control one body at a time, but in return he gets almost complete control over it, and the victim can act completely human. Illumi on the other hand can control multiple bodies, but in return can only give more basic instructions to his subjects.

Feitan also used the shadow step technique Killua and the other Zoldyck's use while he was fighting the queen. There's a theory that Feitan is their brother cuz Killua's mom is from Meteor city but the evidence is only what Kalluto says and the picture they showed where the little kid is walking away in the background.

Also, i actually do agree that Hisoka is stronger based on RAW strength. it would be an High/Extreme DIFF fight between them with Feitan coming out on top

Also all white haired Zoldyck's are transmuters, and all black haired Zoldyck's are either manipulator or conjurers. The only unknown member is Maha Zoldyck and he is shown earlier for one still shot of the whole family and since he is bald we dont know what he is. Maha is Zeno's grandpa so he is old as hell.
