Exactly, it's really sad to stop the ending. I understand they want to avoid spoilers, but it would be nice if they at least listened without watching the clip. Or else that they watch the ending from the moment there are no more spoilers. Because the ending brings so much to the end and the continuity of the episode. And then it allows you to end on a very good note, with the sequence: end/conclusion of the episode (often hyped part)/narrator/the ending which begins to arrive.

I just think in a lot of scenes the dub has much more emotional impact, I only watched Naruto a couple years ago and never watched it when I was younger so It's not nostalgia but come back to this comment after looking at some emotional scenes in OG naruto such as zabuza/naruto on the bridge, naruto sliding over to gaara after there battle and countless others in both sub & dub (compare them) and then maybe you'll see where Im coming from

I actually had the same doubt at 1st watching but got more clear with new information afterwards. You explained very well from the ability perspective. There are also other reasons 1) the Hunter Association have some internal conflicts, mentioned in this ep as well 2) the chimera ant is not rated as a highly dangerous species. Also, There are only ~600 hunters in the HxH world. So, they didn’t put a lot of efforts in this crisis. 3) Some hunters do things only for their own interests and benefits. This is not a classic Hero story just do everything to save the world. if you take a chance to read the manga after the anime you will know.

I understand your thinking, Cannon, but again, these strong hunters have specific abilities that increase their chances of survival in various ways beyond just their raw strenght. In fact, their powers almost seem tailor made for fighting and surviving against stronger opponents than they are, especially with Morel and Knuckle.

Once again: If the Hunter association just bring in the top 10 Hunters or all the Star Hunters or whatever and take them to East Gorteau to fight the ants they literally risk strengthening the enemy. If they send a bunch o Triple Star hunters that are not fit for this specific mission and they get eaten by the King the King will literally receive a huge power up, or Pitou can use them as puppets and make them fight against us. and if that keep happening again and again it might reach a point where even Netero wouldn't be able to defeat the King. it was mentioned before and will repeat it as much as its needed no problem: The Hunter association sent a select few that had the optimal abilities to deal with this specific situation. The Chairman, Morel and Knov. You send an army of Hunters and it can literally backfire and be the end of you. This is not Dragonball where its obvious who is stronger then who. it depends on the situation and abilities. Knov and Morel are combo due that are perfect for stealth and infiltration. It was also mentioned in this episode why the chairman is having such a difficult time in getting good hunters on the job, because of internal politics within the association. Even getting Knov and Morel on the team was a challenge. As for Gon and Killua, to add to your point, it is better to get highly motivated hunters with a personal stake in the game than maybe a good hunter but not as much committed to the mission as our guys. The Nen they generate will be that much stronger since it is affected by the mental state.

Yeah, there definitely are stronger hunters than Shoot and Knuckle (but not as many as you might think, they are definitely on the top echealon combat-wise and there are simply not that many hunters to begin with), but because no hunter is as strong as the royal guards anyway and therefore the objective is not to defeat them but to separate them from the king (yes, I know we've repeat this a 100 times, I'm sorry), they were most likely chosen based on the utility of their abilities for that task rather than just raw power or aura output. I mean just analyze their abilities: Shoot can cage opponents by parts or entirely; Knuckle has an ability that drains aura from his opponent, which gives him the potential to defeat opponents stronger than him; Morel can use Smoke to conceal himself and allies, to trap people in certain spaces, to create clones to confuse the enemy, etc.; Knov can transport and trap opponents in nen rooms, and also transport his own allies from point A to point B, giving the team extra mobility. Gon and Killua are actually the "wild cards". The fact that they are allowing them to participate in the mission is a very risky gamble in their part, and they realize it, but they are counting on Killua's raw talent and Gon's focus and need for revenge.

More than "they were lucky to be born there", it's more of the fact that precisely because NGL had those characteristics (isolated, low density population, no modern technology, closed off to the rest of the world, inhabitants very conformist to nature's course, etc.) is that Chimera ants managed to evolve to that extent in the first place. After all, there were chimera ants in other places in the world, they just didn't evolve in those parts like they did in N.G.L.

This. The arc is kinda slow, but it's worth it and even necessary in order to build up everything. I do admit the whole Gon/Killua vs Knuckle/Shoot thing was a bit longer and slower than necessary, but apart from that I don't think I would've changed a thing about the arc.
