That said, it's true that by hi own admission he is not the strongest hunter out there when it comes to pure combat, and yet he is smart and versatile enough to deal with strong opponents, which kinda proves his point. He show confidence in his ability even in unfavorable situations.

2024-01-14 03:00:09 +0000 UTCOne fact about Morel that's shown in the manga but not explicitly said in the Anime, is that according to Knuckle, he is the hunter with the greatest raw amount of aura he has ever met. I don't remember the exact numerical amount, but I do remember that it's a bit more than three time the amount Gon has, and mind you Gon is already kinda known for having an unreal amount of aura. It makes sense he is able fight with a small percentage of his total aura, as that's already more than most hunters.

His guards are in charge of the whole selection process, so his only responsability is waiting. He plays games purely to pass the time.

Its an infiltration mission with a specific goal of separating the guard from meruem and killing the king. Its like a seal team 6 kinda thing, but no one asks “ why didnt they just send all the seals or the whole navy to kill osama?”. They sent the specialists whos abilities fit the mission best.Morel who can do insane recon with his smoke. Hes already used the little smoke bunnies to do so. And knov, who can create portal/pocket dimensions and escape at any time. They were chosen bc they wanted to keep casualties to a minimum in order to not strengthen the ants,while also send ppl who were strong enough to not die while also having the right nen abilities for this style of mission. The only real “powerhouse” they sent was Netero, and hes already been told he stands no chance even against a royal guard.So send in more ppl who are probably weaker than netero anyway to strengthen the ants? You gotta think of it as more of an elite task force with the particular skills for this particular mission. Okay damn imma shut up now hope this helps.

2024-01-13 15:13:03 +0000 UTCOn the other hand, I actually think Carter’s a lot more hooked on these episodes as the arc pumps up. Heard Cannon saying they were good too. Admittedly, the introduction of Ikalgo and Meleoron, among others, could feel like a whiplash from a first-time viewer’s POV considering that Gon and the team’s plan had already been set up and the anticipation for this to be in motion is so high that said variables may feel tedious at this point. Then again, they still don’t know what we know so these reactions can be, to an extent, expected (except maybe for some important things that were unfortunately missed in-between discussions but they can always be reviewed). The depths are, imo or at least in my experience, more appreciated in retrospect. I’d love to see the Geks feel the feels that hxh gives, frustrations and all. I’m confident tho that they’ll love what’s about to come. 😉

They start cooking so hard that something as simple as a conversation between a few characters becomes the most gripping thing ever. Thats kinda already started as yall can tell with meruem. All this tension build up is gonna be so worth it… just know when the narrator starts REALLLY cooking. Youre there😈

There is no limit to what you'll do." As we've seen in the past, Gon can be quite self-centered when pursuing his own goals and ambitions. In the previous arc alone, he went so far as to sacrifice his own hands to defeat Genthru unnecessarily and of his utilization of Killua in order to beat Razor. Gon's capabilities seem boundless, which can be both a virtue and a flaw. His actions reflect a willingness to do whatever it takes, for better or worse. Seriously been loving these reactions, can't wait for more!

2024-01-13 02:53:42 +0000 UTCYeees, I'm here for the Morel appreciation, such a smart and reliable character! And I get what Carter was trying to say about Meruem haha. Thing is, the King is like 2 months old and has been navigating this world the same way a baby does as he grows up. Only difference is him being immensely powerful from the get go (and having to fulfil his destiny as king lol). When he was born, the first thing he asked was for food, just like a newborn would ask for milk. Babies are completely amoral at the start of their development, and Meruem is no different, he ruthlessly kills his own soldiers and then proceeds to murder a literal child for no valid reason whatsoever. But yet, while vile, none of those acts seem to be done for the sake of being evil. He's just a baby, hungry, carrying the weight of his species as its king, and is therefore evolving very fast as he makes more discoveries. I personally saw this episode as him being in his kid era: playing games to pass time while feeling invincible. Until Miss Toph arrives and makes him realize: he is not the best at everything. I believe she's the first creature to kind of finally make him develop a sense of "others". And yes, Brig is right, the rewatch value of this arc is amazing, especially starting from this point, can't wait for more!
