The 2 on the right have already watched Naruto so I really don't see why we should care about their reactions tbh... The guy on the left is used to Longform anime(also seems to have been spoiled on a few things on Naruto), and is far from an anime hater tbh. Cannon and Carter are technically the main draw when it comes to reacting to any of the Big 3 tbh.

It aired on Toonami on Cartoon Network so the explanations catered to us as kids and really helped us understand, at the time, what was what. It may seem like overkill to you but the flashbacks, the explanations and even the repeating of the beginning of the episodes catered to us back when this show wasn’t bingeable.

I think team gai and many of the girls throughout the series are some of the most disappointing in this aspect forsure + the fact that Kishi constantly "damsel-fies" Sakura or whatever, even down the line when we knoww she's a badass too

2024-01-18 19:58:10 +0000 UTCI just dont think it's fair to make a comparison that they wouldn't enjoy Naruto and wouldn't be hyped for it unless the two that have watched them hype them up for it, Naruto alone doesn't need people to do that, it does that on its own. I do think they would've liked Bleach's intro better overall, at least the Soul Society Arc, because its really hype, but after that there arent really a lot of memorable arcs. Naruto really just gets better, Naruto's first arc is really fucking good, not as good as Bleach's, but still good, and then it picks up immediately in the Chunnin exams which I can assure you gets people hyped. They also have some of the best and most memorable anime arcs like the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, The Search for Tsunade, and then of course there's Shippuden, do I really have to explain myself there? probably some of the greatest arcs to touch anime. I could say the same with One Piece, while it starts slow, it picks up and has also some of the best anime arcs to this day like Alabasta, Water7/ Enies Lobby, Marineford etc.

The ninja world was warring constantly before this and power structures were toppling left and right so no tech could really develop until recently. And the kind that did develop afterward catered to the ninja world more than the civilians. That’s why the random ramen guy or whatever doesn’t get a Bluetooth headset, it’s probably super expensive for them or military use only.

Every arc has amazing moments, villains are written fantastically. The only slightly painful aspect is after watching so many new gen seasonal anime, the pacing for these episodes are tough. But I stand by them choosing Naruto. Also I believe in part 1 there are literally no important filler

The best arcs and moments are worth the watch no matter what. So many interesting characters with good intros, giving us their backstory and giving them great moments to shine at the start, then they basically just become background characters. [SPOILERS] Lee being a huge example of that, starting with one of the greatest intros and fights ever, then being used well in two fights. They built Sakura up to be the smart one with good chakra control and then barely use it except in the most uninteresting ways possible. It's so hard not to compare it to JJK which obviously takes a lot from Naruto, but does everything so much better. Nobara had an amazing part in the last arc and feels so much more developed than Sakura even this early on. Maybe developed is not the right word, just that she has more personality than being worried about Naruto and Sasuke, which is all I remember Sakura ever doing.

She will get better after the time skip, but even then after she gets some moments to shine, she will still end up being second fiddle to Naruto and Sasuke, which are always going to be the two most important characters. The real issue with Sakura isn't that she is a supporting character, but that she has been too often written as being too useless or that she made stupid or emotional decisions that a lot of people hated her for it. I honestly think the writer just doesn't know how to write female characters well.

2024-01-17 10:53:56 +0000 UTCUnfortunately hating Sakura is an incredibly common take, so I doubt yall are really gonna get much flack for it lmao - the reactions are about what I expected, but some extra love to Carter for trying to give her more time to cook (ofc yall are entitled to ur opinions too tho, and its somewhat understandable in this time,,unfortunately I think it'll be awhile before she really gets much chance at winning anyone over) To answer the question regarding why the others don't have a "Rika" (lmao), that's because its simply not in their personality type. Both Naruto and Sasuke tend to be very forthcoming with their thoughts and feelings on things, whereas "Inner Sakura" (I realized I don't think its been translated in these subs, but that's what her "Rika" is referred to as) is meant to show Sakura's true feelings on matters, where she otherwise tries to give more agreeable responses instead. Now I definitely have a bias since she's my favorite character, but while she definitely wasn't much help against Zabuza, it should be noted that when the first ninja brothers attacked, her first instinct was to protect Tazuna (their client), and that while everyone was facing Zabuza, someone absolutely needed to stay by the clients side still. The entire mission is based off protecting the bridge builder, and leaving him /entirely/ defenseless would negate the whole purpose. While in reality Sakura wouldn't have been able to do much should he have gone after him more ofc, there still wasn't a much more beneficial arrangement given Kakashi's imprisonment at the time. A singular kunai is better then absolutely nothing, at the very least. Also ngl, love Sakura disproving the immediate assumption that Sasuke would be the best at the tree walking exercise,,pain when Jacks first response was straight disbelief when weve barely even met her or her potential skills yet tho (as was pointed out earlier) Anddd in regards to Cannon saying her skills there would've been helpful in the fight, u gotta remember that that was literally her first time trying it too, and they're literally all freshly graduated 12/13 yr olds who really don't know much of anything rn (even things that u think they really oughta have covered more in the academy ajdkf). This is especially true for Naruto and Sakura given their upbringings and such. I feel like this comments getting way too long, but all that to say that Sakura's still my (very controversial) girl, and hopefully some opinions will shift of her (at least off of hateee anyway adbhd) somewhere down the line. Ngl, one of the main reasons Naruto was my last pick for reactions for this group (outside of there just being more of the things I think yall mentioned disliking in animes) was because Kishis kind of known for his poor handling of some (especially female) characters in the series. Which isn't to say that they're all bad or anything, but rather that they're often pretty cool and he just sets up so much potential for a lot of different characters that nothing really ends up happening with. And ofc people will say "well the series is called 'Naruto', not 'Naruto and friends'" or whatever, buttt for a story so long I think its definitely disappointing that so much gets left behind or unexplored Anyways apologies for my tangent, and I dooo still hope its actually a fun watch!

Interestingly, it was Kishimoto's editor who suggested adding a rival character, leading to the creation of Sasuke. It makes you wonder how the series would've turned out without such an important character. Another fact is that one of the main reasons characters wear shoes with their toes exposed is because Kishimoto likes to draw toes. In the original design, they wore boots, but he didn't like the look of it and wanted to try something different. It is pretty different, I guess. 🤣🤣

It’s a (forbidden justu) that splits his power equally to all his other clones. Naruto can make so many because he has a lot of chakra and ninetails thus almost making it a very good justu for him. The sharigan and spot clones from real people. But can’t tell which one it is with the (shadow) clones becasue all of Naruto’s clones are identical
