Sub elitists can’t even give a sliver of credit towards the Dub when it has objectively good voice acting. Not for every character but a good portion of them. Even when the Sub is superior, it doesn’t mean the Dub is trash lol There’s a 1-10 rating scale and yet only ever rate with 1’s or 10’s 😂

Guys, I watched the OG naruto in dub and yes, it's good. But Shippuden with its heavy character moments is a must in sub. I don't know if it's the actors are more talented or the jap words mesh better with the music or both. Moments that had me crying in sub felt like an Oh, in dub.

I understand how og naruto can seem childish, glad your still watching the show though cause I have a hunch that you will like shippuden a lot more, just a warning though - first couple arcs of shippuden, the pacing is slow at times but the few consecutive arcs afterwards are imo the best shippuden has to offer so if your disliking it just thug it out cause It gets much better, with that being said I still enjoyed watching the first couple of arcs and you may even dislike the arcs I find to be the best or who knows the entire show. So my advice would just be to have no specific expectations based on my comments or others that may sway you into one direction or the other even though it is a bit hyprocitical because Im offering some advice right now but nonetheless, hope you enjoy shippuden

Naruto sub and dub are both really good. I will say that I did enjoy Zabuza's dub quote after Naruto "talk no jutsu"s him more. "You talk too much. Your words cut deep, deeper than any blade." compared to his meathead response in the original. Next up is the arc everyone says is the best. It's better than the Land of Waves arc (the one you just finished) but I think the last arc of Part 1 Naruto is the best.

Agree for shippuden but even then shippuden dub has really good voice actors, but og naruto in dub is significantly better, not because of the voice actors but because of the choppy script/subtitles in the earlier episodes

It gets better as the show progresses, especially in shippuden but there are definitely more times you'll see this, earlier episodes have a lot of this to lay a foundation for the abilities, ninja world etc. - plus some of the bad script for the sub in the earlier episodes makes it even a little more unbearable when compared to the dub

I watched ALL of Naruto when it aired originally and I FULLY support ALL the Sakura hate. I also think that if you consistently hate on her, you will get to enjoy her good moments THAT much more when she gets better later, so even hating on her most of the time now will pay off later because of the feeling of finally getting that satisfaction of her doing something good after all that hate.

I just remembered things in anime(especially when the original is from weekly manga). Somethimes anime starts even before the original manga isn't finished. When this happens, anime might catch up with the original itself(because anime and manga are both weekly production, one episode of anime is much longer than manga in terms of contents in it). Actually, this happened before and it was a disaster. "D.Gray-man" was also the weekly manga and also started the anime before the manga ends, but the manga author couldn't keep producing the manga like for 6 months because of the health reason. Then anime caught up with the manga in the middle of the battle scene, and got canceled lol. Studios would want to avoid this, so they add a bunch of cut scenes. These cut scenes about their pasts, they don't exist in the original manga. That's why these anime feels so slow and lots of yapping.

@Picasso the speech from naruto to zabuza hits so much different in dub. dub is so much better than sub for naruto. The VA in dub is so good for Shikamaru, obito, madara, Lee, Guy, Kakashi, Itachi, pretty much everyone. Naruto is the only anime ive watched in dub and it clears the sub for sure. There are so many moments in the dubbed that the voice acting is much more impactful and hits so much better.

Haha, I watched it in sub because I can't stand dub anime but I did try almost 20 eps in dub and you're right about some of the script being better in dub. I switched back to sub because it was a lot less unbearable still haha. My opinion on the show hasn't changed really, it might just not be my cup of tea. I found most of it pretty bad with the exception of characters like Sasuke and Itachi and some op moments here and there. I can see how the dub makes it better for some people, but for me the issue is mostly how childish it is. Still planning on finishing it but it's slow going

I saw you called Naruto midruto a while back, assumed you watched the entire show but seeing this you just started shippuden, just wondering did you watch pretime-skip naruto in sub or dub? might have affected your opinion a bit because as you can see from the other comments aswell, Im not the only one who thinks the actual script for sub in og Naruto is pretty horrendous, Im pretty sure you would'eve enjoyed it more in dub. If you watched og naruto in dub though I recommend you switch to sub for shippuden, dub is still great but when it comes to older voices sub handles the characters much better

I also believe the reason only some people from the Uchiha clan develop their eyes is later expanded upon in the show. Anyways, the Zabuza and Haku's ending alwaysss gets me 😭 but I'm so excited to get into the chunin arc! 👀 Cant waittt for those uploads 🤩

Naruto was released weekly all year long...it wasn't a 25 episode season and then a year long break like the newer shows do. The reason pacing is so slow is because they had to drag the episodes out sometimes. That is also why there is so much filler in Naruto. The anime would catch up to the manga and then they wouldn't have anything to release.
