The only good thing about Sakura vs Ino fight was the flashback which showed us how precious their bond is, how kind Ino is, how she helped build Sakura's self-confidence but Kishimoto also had to ruin it by making Sasuke the reason for their rivalry. I know, ultimately, their stupid crush is not the only reason but it the way it was written, this stupid crush supercedes what could have been a wholesome rivalry like that between Kakashi and Gai. It painted Sakura as this ungrateful girl who would dump her friend because of a stupid boy and Ino as equally shallow. And Kishimoto robbing Ino of her win just puts a bad taste overall. The potential of turning Sakura losing against Ino into a self-improvement drive that's separate from Sasuke would have been so much better. Them fighting over a boy just made their rivalry so shallow. Yes, we could argue Sakura wants to step out of Ino's shadow but when 90% of the time they're fighting over Sasuke, well...

Sakura always felt inferior to Ino bc just like you said, she was always trailing behind Ino in her shadows which is why she says to her that she won't lose to her anymore. And Ino is mad that Sakura is "acting big" after having her in her shadows since childhood, hence her saying to Sakura "do you know who you're lipping off to". ngl, i feel like so many people just check out of the sakura/ino flashbacks 😭😭 which like ok, cool if u dont like them,,but also i feel like people are just constantly watering down their rivalry to the whole sasuke thing and the idea that it was all just over a boy, when the whole point of the flashbacks is to show thats not the case 😫😫 are they a bit dragged out and weirdly placed in the anime? sure, but theyre still important to their relationships and dynamic,,imo sakura didnt turn their friendship to a rivalry "all over a boy", but because the flashbacks show us just how much she felt like she was living in inos shadow, and i think that ino got use to it too, as it showed us her seeming a bit upset in one of the previous episodes when sakura was brighter and talking to people more + revealing her crush on sasuke,,so like do they use sasuke as a clear point of contention and rib at eachother a lot over him? ya, obviously - but one of the lines was literally 'im no longer a girl who will run after you, ino' like,,this isnt actuallyyy about him shjejf also i believe it was canon who pointed it out in one of the episodes at one point, but yes a lot of peoples powers are inherited/bloodline abilities and such - i dont wanna say who is or isnt excluded in that, cuz its kinda spoilers for some people, but almost no one in the rookie 9 is without one,,sakura is one who doesnt though, and so even though we can see she hasnt developed her own style yet, i still think its kinda cool that she managed to graduate with a bunch of clan heirs and stuff to get this far regardless

Dub is trash and corny. Telletubby sounding voices and dialogue. “HEY GUYS, COME ON LETS WIN” say that line in the most disney child actor voice you can think of and thats what dub is. Idk how anybody watches. So what some of the subtitles dont translate exactly perfect to the meaning. One sentence doesnt change the scope or feel of the show. You know what does tho? Corny disney channel child actor sounding dialogue. Instantly takes a tense or suspenseful moment and makes it loose all tension and suspense bc i have to listen to some my little pony ass voice explain the scene. Get outta here dub people.

Youtube and patreon isnt a full time job for them as of now (I’m assuming the five them can’t live off of it but I could be wrong), there just college kids who are doing this for fun, for the enjoyment of entertainment, and still have jobs and stuff outside of this. Pitou, respectfully - the arguments between sub & dub for this comment section has nothing to do with reading comprehension, I agree with you about the occasionally corny dialogue for the majority of animes but just go back & compare some iconic scenes in Og naruto in both sub & dub and you might see how unsatisfying those subtitles are and how much harder it hits in dub, One example I like to mention is comparing Naruto's speech to Zabuza in both dub & sub. The problem is not the va's but the terrible & untelling subtitles

Im lowkey backtracking from my earlier comment but... Let me know if this is a terrible take but since it seems the viewers are split half & half on sub vs. dub, wouldn't it be a good compromise to watch the rest of og naruto in dub and switch to shippuden for sub? In terms of the popularity & viewer retention on youtube, most popular reaction shows have watched Og naruto in dub and that way they have dragged in a large crowd to their already existing audience (especially western because of nostalgia etc.) that sticks and by the time shippuden rolls around it doesn't matter what translation is preferred because to be blunt, shippuden is just that good & the subtitles drastically improve In terms of how much this channel can grow just by watching the first part of one of the BIG THREE anime, ( just look how well Naruto reactions do on youtube) I think it's just a wasted opportunity to drag in a huge new audience by continuing to watch Og in sub From my experience at least, switching from dub to sub over the course of the show was a seamless transition just because the voice actors are good & consistent in both but I promise you it's even easier when you hear Naruto's dub voice in Shippuden Geks, it would be greatly appreciated if you would let us know (maybe you have already) if us dub enthusiasts are yapping for no reason or if a compromise like this is possible

Dub is fine if you guys want it that way. I'd rather see you enjoy this show than just looking at it like blank canvas.. I always tell people to watch the original sub because it trains your eyes looking at the - words below first before the picture - If you can't watch this in sub straight this will affect you in the future wanting the rest of anime be in dub, that just one thing.. I suggest to just train you eyes, and adapt to difficult world of SUB.. others can't take it because they want the easy way out.. that how they are as a person irl, I can only imagine.. If you guys ever feel like you should give people who want to watch dub a chance once you reach shippuden, please make a vote out of it first. My opinion is that sub is always better because there's nothing more authentic, and I watch absolutely nothing in dub. While I won't be able to watch if the switch to dub happens, it would at least be fairer to have viewers vote for it so that you have a larger viewer count than if you hadn't simply gone with those who bothered speaking out about what their preference is. And if you enjoy sub and would rather stick to it, then please do. I feel that what matters most is whether yall are enjoying what you're watching because it makes it all the more enjoyable to us.

Everyone's asking for dub in the comments probably don't know what the boys thought about FMAB's dub. In a way that even with FMAB's most well done dub, they still mostly prefer sub more and it took them time to get adjusted to dub. And it's completely understandable for me. I think the main issue is how screamy characters' (like Naruto or Edward Elric) dub is done. Sure dub does a better job with some iconic characters in shippuden (specifically ones with deep voices) , but I don't think it's the case for main characters like Naruto or Sakura. So please stop asking for dub when there is no reason for it now. I think boys can watch in dub certain episodes of shippuden but rn I don't think it would make the experience much better. People ask this all the time for all the shows. There is no “set” schedule for these shows, however, almost all shows that they are keeping up with get uploaded between 1-2 weeks apart from each other max. The only real anomaly that ive seen is ninja kamui, as they havent uploaded that in almost a month, but apparently they are still keeping up with it so they might just bulk recorded the episodes. And obviously shows like solo leveling that are getting new episodes now get uploaded weekly. Im 90% positive this is how it works as ive been watching since attack on titan, but somebody can correct me if im wrong

The fact that its episode 40 & Canon just connected the dots that the Sharingan is a power only belonging to the Uchiha ( timestamp:- 39:46) either shows they were knocked out during that 12 hour binge or just further exemplifies how confusing & untelling the subtitles can be sometimes in og naruto, thank goodness they get better in shippuden cause the bad subs definitely dull down the viewing experience, worldbuilding/power system explanations and overall a lot of the moments that are suppose to hit a little harder and be a bit more understandable than what is conveyed through the translations. Most debates between sub & dub are just in terms of voice actor preferences but one way or the other don't really impact the tone of the show whichever one you choose. For example, for Shippuden whether you choose dub or sub, the themes, tones & feelings that are elicited from watching are consistent. However, Og Naruto in sub seems like there is a complete shift in tone and dynamics between the characters. Having watched both sub & dub now, I can see why dub watchers tend to rank og naruto highly, in some cases even higher than shippuden whilst for sub viewers, if og naruto stood on its own, it would be an average anime that doesn't compare at all to Shippuden While there is obviously an issue with pacing, especially in the first arc which you guys mentioned was your biggest problem with the show so far, the bad subtitles just add insult to injury and worsen not only specific scenes but the overall the quality of the show. By the way, despite what it seems, this isn't a rant to get you guys to switch to dub cause thats obviously out the window and I do prefer shippuden in sub but having watched at least og naruto in dub, I just dont understand how brig, mckay and all the others who watched og naruto in sub could get through 100+ episodes without being confused at least a dozen times or just straight up being uninterested in the future plot and the trajectory the show is going towards because of the lack of clarity This is coming from a huge sub guy btw, for almost any other anime I would agree that sub is superior Just my opinion though, to each their own

i kniw its hard to understand but when it seems like something is going on to long its because its a manga addapted to an anime. In the manga it flows but in anime , ( especially in old anime ) it seems like fight scenes are way too long. Shippuden def does it way better . Kishimoto is just bad at writing great female characters, imo. There are some good ones, but nothing to write home about.

The reason Sakura doesn't have a specific ability like everyone else is because her parents are just regular people, not ninjas, so she's not had any family secrets passed down to her like everyone else. She sucks but she's having to learn everything on her own so I give her a pass.

Most people, I don't think have any problems with the japanese voice acting, it's just the terrible subtitles that make things confusing and dulls down scenes & dialogue.
