it's so frustrating because Ned had the perfect opportunity to get the advantage with Renly's offer, but Ned cares too much about honor and playing by the book that he couldn't do something like that, which is why he also denied littlefingers offer. Renly and littlefinger both could tell exactly what was going to happen and tried to bail Ned out but in the end it came down to this.. Renly ran away and littlefinger changed sides Also something that was kind of missing from the show is that during all this Ned was making arrangements to have Sansa and Arya go back to winterfell by ship, and a part of why he wanted to give Stannis the throne was because that would mean that he would get a peaceful exit from kings landing back to winterfall as soon as possible, his term as protector of the realm would be very short and Stannis would choose a new hand, letting Ned go peacefully as it would have been thanks to him that he got the throne basically handed to him. So there's a part of selfishness of why he didn't accept either of these offers. Littlefinger also mentions how Robert had had mercy for the council members who had sided with the mad king as long as they did new pledges of fealty when he stepped into power. But Stannis would not do the same, he would immediately replace the whole council with new members, this is why littlefinger did not want Stannis on the throne, he would lose his position immediately, which is why he betrayed Ned after Ned denied his offer

In the first episode, the Starks come across a dead stag when they return from the beheading of the knight's watch deserter. Theon suggests a mountain lion might have killed it. They find a dead Direwolf further on with 6 pups - "one for each of the Stark children." Robb says, "there are no Direwolves south of the wall." This is heavy foreshadowing for when Ned ventures south 'a foreign land' and implies that Ned and Robert killed each other inadvertently. This show is filled with that type of stuff. such good writing. Makes it pretty obvious when they ran out of material.

Ned 100% had no intention of having Joffrey on the throne for even 1 second once he learned that he was Jaime's. He altered Robert's will to "rightful heir" because he was going to bring to light that Joffrey was not Robert's. But yes, he had no intention of ruling - just being the mediator. He also refuses to allow Renly to rule per the... conversation he had with Renly where they talked about this exact subject. Ned was never entertaining the idea of anyone ruling besides Stannis. Gendry was never even a thought. Bastards do not have a rightful claim. Robert simply had no sons with Cersei, so by the law of the land, the throne would go to Stannis. This is not an opinion or "take." This is literally the narrative written in the book and the screenplay for the show.

One thing that I found that they did not into put in the show is Robert’s claim to the throne. I know he conquered it but he actually has a little claim to it as his grandmother is Rhaelle Targaryen. She was the daughter of king Aegon V. So it’s crazy how the Baratheons in the show has Targaryen ancestry. I wish they mentioned it in the show as it would make more sense.

Regarding the books: the last one came out in 2011 and there are still two books coming eventually. Because of that, the book readers are going insane to the point where we watch several hours of two guys just analyzing all food descriptions in the books.

The ending is very bad, BUT (Benjen's words don't apply here), seasons one to six is the greatest run in television history that I have ever seen. Season seven has some great scenes too. No matter the ending, Game of Thrones is still my all-time favorite show! Also, I vote for Jack to sit wherever he'd like. It is more practical for Brig to be closer to hear his thoughts more and let Jack and McKay talk, but not necessary.

Guys, the GOT ending is not THAT bad. I was also one of the many people not satisfied enough with the ending but it was not THAT bad 😭… don’t get discouraged. Just enjoy the show bc even with how GOT ended, I know that you guys can tell, the fanbase is and will always be strong. That’s how loved the show was and still is. In my humble opinion it’s hands down the best show of our generation and it’s really not up for debate. I don’t think there’s anything that can compare to the masterful writing of the earlier seasons and the cinematography, fight sequences of later seasons. I said what I said 🫡

I want to start of by saying that I'm always excited when you drop new GOT videos and I'm really enjoying your reactions. The only criticism I have is that Jack needs to realize that we are here to watch those who have not previously seen the show. I think McKay does a good job of knowing when to be quiet and when to speak. I'm all for Brig taking the first seat on the couch and just having the people who have not seen the show sitting together. And before all the fangirls attack me, I'm not trying to be a dick. I enjoyed Jack's reactions to other shows that they've done, but for some reason with GOT, he is doing a little too much.
