Guys. I hope you use animefillerlist.com to filter out the filler. It'll make your experience a lot better and you'll get though it faster. Do some quick research though in fillers worth watching cause I remember there are some that elevate the story. Loving the Naruto reactions, haven't seen the series in more than a decade!

@Kyosuke Kagami Shippuden has a flashback problem, for sure, but OG Naruto has the bigger pacing problem, in my opinion. I’ll take ridiculous amounts of flashbacks over current action being stretched out to ridiculous degrees any day.

@Kyosuke Kagami the worst part is they mix canon and filler so you can’t even just skip all the filler. They’ll put like 3 minutes of actual story progression but then pad it out with 15 min of flashbacks so the show doesn’t overtake the manga. This was egregious during the last arc, couldn’t even keep watching the show at that point.

I think Geks and most of you guys don't even understand what tf is going on so I am here to clarify. In Japanese culture, things broken out of the blue is considered to be a "bad luck", especially the kind of luck that involves loss of someone's life. The most common and usual one is the clog thong of the Geta sandals to be snapped, or the rice bowl of someone to be cracked. So in movies and TV shows and animes, these expression are commonly seen. In this case, the colored pencil is telling the audience that someone is gonna die, and plus by putting on the focus to Konohamaru getting this "bad feeling", the show is indicating his grandpa(the 3rd Hokage) is gonna die.

@Kyosuke dude the Uchiha flashbacks do not become a problem until the last arc. The pacing from the Akatsuki Suppression Arc to the Pain Arc is pretty good. Those arcs are not dragged out at all.

i agree with you on some parts, but you gotta let them have there own opinions, at least they are being honest and i can respect that. But they do need to put some more respect on the show, naruto popularised and started hand signs for jutsu (jjk for example), even reanimation jutsu (jjk uses this again), even the MC having a demon inside of him (jjk again) the list goes on but i wont spoil. even gojo, megumi and nobara are HEAVILY inspired by team 7, even down to looks and personality, gojo having broken eyes, wears an eye covering and even has the same haircut, megumi being nonchalant in a way like sasuke and has the same haircut, and nobara is all about her looks in season 1 especially, just like sakura. and almost forgot cursed energy and chakra are essentially the same thing. (BTW I LOVEEEE JJK, i have this perspective because naruto was the first anime i watched followed by jjk). and the episodes you watched were animated in 2003-2004, shippuden ended in 2016-2017 so the animations gets better and better, all im saying is try to understand that this is the most influential anime of all time right behind DBZ for reason ;) THIS IS THE GOAT OF ANIME

At the pace of 4 episodes per week, they’ll finish the entire series by early 2026 if they skip filler. That’s not too bad considering how long the show is. HxH took a little less than a year. It’d be cool to get to shippuden sooner but this pace isn’t bad

That’s fair. I watched it during quarantine where I was able to just binge it so it didn’t feel too terrible! There were definitely some flashbacks where I just zoned out after seeing it for the hundredth time, especially Uchiha ones, but I hope the more mature tone and heavier plot points will be enjoyable for the guys!

The pacing is far far worse in Shippuden dude. Soooo much exposition and flashbacks that are like 90% recap with maybe 10% new info. For example ANY time they mention Itachi you can be guaranteed to get the exact same Uchiha clan flashback, and goddamn do those minutes add up over several hundred episodes. During the original broadcast when new episodes were being released weekly, there was a recurring meme among fans (the "uchiha speedbumps" iirc) who would dread anytime that any Uchiha had screentime, because it meant the plot would barely advance that week.

@Thomas Let me put it this way. If Studio Gek was just Brig, McKay, and Jack, and Jack was the only one genuinely reacting while the other two remained silent, wouldn't that be weird? It's only less of an issue because there's always 3 other guys to take center stage, so losing 2 doesn't feel as bad (I know they're not absent, but it feels like it sometimes). Naruto is so dragged out cause it had an old-school type of weekly releases instead of seasonal releases modern animes have. So they were trying real hard not to catch up to the manga and included the most random filler scenes. In fact most of Konohomaru's scenes in the anime are fillers. The whole concept of ninja BEFORE I knew of NARUTO is that their essence is NOT TO BE SEEN, did you guys never play or hear about ninjas before this? EXTRA thought: this show talks A LOT about analyzing your opponents which is true in real life, you can't just barge in all the time like your immortal because they have powers but are only HUMAN NINJAs.
