Imagine yapping so much ab 45 seconds of a scene with such a distasteful character, that had no relevance to the plot AT ALL at that point.

We already know Joffrey is a psychopath; getting the end of hotd spoiled won't change our thoughts on that. What do they desperately need to see? Joffrey likes Targyran history? Thats what youre making a fuss about? Yes GRRM had characters retell history thus spoiling the dance of dragons. Thats irrelevant under the new context of the Dance becoming its own full fledged story with arcs and drama. Theres legit no narrative or objective reason to endure the spoiler for the sake of author integrity.

Skipping a season is not like skipping a scene. And yes GoT was created first but it was created without the knowledge of HoTD being a show in the future.

Yea I dont fully understand it either, GoT came out first and was meant to be watched before HotD. Its like watching JJK's Gojo and Geto past arc. You dont skip season 1 first, because youd be aware of the outcome. Everyone goes into HotD knowing exactly what they say and what happens in GoT.

Exactly, it is BITS of dialogue. It is talked about briefly in passing without any context. Also, some of those scenes are important descriptive character moments for some character relationships. On the other hand, did you not also learn from past experience that we as the audience cannot trust the historical record since it isnt usually accurate to the events that actually transpired as is evident in our own reality? Usually important details are changed, modified etc to fit the narrative of whoever is the acting historian of the people in power at the time. I guess, people still think they know better how to tell the author's story than he himself has intended.

They don't already know what the spoiler is. As someone who has only watched the shows, I may know that the Targaryens lead to their own demise, but I don't know the outcome of House of the Dragon aside from a couple of spoilers I have seen from those who have read the books. Also, the release order does not dictate how people should watch the show. The Star Wars prequels came out after the original trilogy but you are free to watch the movies chronologically and it will tell the same story, especially if you already know that Anakin is Darth Vader, which 99.9% of the world does.

I think HoTD does a great job of making characters less black and white and more grey. But I do have an appreciation for characters like Joffrey in GoT who aren’t grey. I love a good villain.
