love that you guys got a map! if you can definitely look at a map of which houses rule over which regions (the series explains pretty well but im more of a visual learner esp for the smaller houses). quick PS there is a big HOTD spoiler in s3ep4 from 15:49-16:06!! be quick bc the scene changes fast and it’s within the first few lines of dialogue!! there is another in s5ep9 but im sure yall will cross that bridge when you get there. there’s a reddit post out there that has the timestamps for future reference :)

Book Jon is also a warg, through Ghost. Ned isn't. I think one generally accepted idea is that the First Men (like the Starks) might have a high affinity for warging/skinchanging, and since the return of the dragons has strengthened magic, the Stark kids can warg. Another idea is that maybe many Starks do have the ability, but only the current kids had pet direwolves that they could bond with.

In the books every Stark child is a warg. That is why there was a wolf for each child. They are just all at varying levels of understanding their connection to their wolves. And Sansa lost out on developing that ability, as her wolf is dead.

In season 2 Robb destroyed the other Lannister army in the West, that’s where he met Talisa. He needed ships or more men to attack either Casterly Rock(the Lannister home), King’s Landing or Harrenhal where Tywin was. That’s why he sent Theon back to his family and Catelyn to negotiate with Renly. He was waiting for them to return and then everything unraveled after that. I agree he was waiting around for most of the season but it made sense why. In episode 1 of this season he says he wants a fight and that they’ve been chasing the Lannisters but they won’t give him one.
