I always hated the bear scene since the first time I saw it in like 2013 or whenever it was. Takes too much suspension of disbelief for me(even more than White Walkers). It needed to be done way better if they were going to do it at all. Even the bear scene in The Revenant pushes me to my limit and that one is done incredibly well. But I like the rest of the episode. I like the “in-between” stuff. Makes the world feel more real and fleshed out.

I do agree though that for such a long show, it would be better for them to watch more episodes so they are more in tune with the story (and don’t forget about it due to these dragged out, early foundational episodes). And they would get to the true NARUTO and peak fiction sooner.

Just a bit of background knowledge, a few episodes back the Bolton soldiers who captured Jaimie and Brienne were singing a song on their way to Harrenhal, that time when Carter said he'd never be singing like that. Anw, that song was "The Bear and the Maiden Fair". Kind of foreshadowing for this episode who's titled after that song. Songs are kind of important on this show. Martin said on 60 mins with Anderson Cooper that "the books won't end that different from the show". - He's clearly stuck on how to get there with all the characters he has in the books, they cut 25+ characters and 10.storylines from the books (an estimate). - Season 4/5 is when the show starts to diverge and become its own entity. - In Season 5, they cut a crucial character from the show that clearly has a part to play in the finale #ifykuk hehe. - Season 6 to 8 are based on notes and plot notes George gave the showrunners.
