2024-05-31 06:50:43 +0000 UTCI think some people hate season 2 because the show started taking itself just a bit too seriously compared to season 1, which was more of a pure comedy/parody while also being more episodic. Personally, I like season 1, more but season 2 it's still pretty solid, I don't get why it got so much hate. And sure, the animation got worse, but it's definitely not the worst I've seen

One of the biggest reasons s2 looks like it does is because of the deadlines they had, a lot of the main issues are fixed in the blu-ray version

It seemed like that was the consensus while I'd hardly noticed a difference. It was certainly there but it was like my 3rd anime so I didn't really have an eye for animation and REALLY enjoyed season 2. I see their points now but come on, I see why some anime fans got a bad rep.

2024-05-31 01:06:25 +0000 UTCHonestly aside from how shit some of the composited textures are (namely the metal), the animation is actually pretty good. The fight scenes are actually fairly well animated compared to most shows, though arguably not on the level of something like JJK Season 2 or obviously One Punch Season 1. But even the CGI looks pretty decent as far as that goes. The "downgrade" is like 75% just the shitty texturing. The animation really only stepped down from "Godly" to "Really Good".

Yusuke Murata who is a legendary manga artist contacted ONE and asked to be the artist for the manga adaptation. The OPM manga is genuinely some of the best art I've ever seen and is so enjoyable to read.

2024-05-30 20:23:01 +0000 UTCAlso brig they did drop a trailer for s3 a couple months ago after almost 4 years of no news so at least we know it’s fully in production. And the trailer for s3 looks SIGNIFICANTLY better than s2 so it’s fair to say JC staff improved, the future is bright for OPM fans.

2024-05-30 19:50:08 +0000 UTCS2 gets hate pretty much exclusively due to the animation downgrade. As Carter said s1 is arguably the most special season of an anime production and animation wise. I think where OPM shines the brightest is thru its side characters which is why the story is better in 2 for me.
