2024-06-11 19:05:11 +0000 UTCYeah Rengokou was sick. One of my favorite characters in the entire manga. That arc was just bad luck after bad luck. He did everything he could to make sure the citizens were safe, while also simultaneously trying to teach/train and protect Tanjiro and co. And after hours of grueling combat, Akaza shows up. I’m not saying Rengokou could’ve won against Akaza 1v1, but I think he might’ve stood a better chance at least and made it until morning without dying. And you aren’t wrong about Akaza compared to Gyutaro (upper 6). The upper 6 are so insanely OP that it had been over 100 years since any of them had been defeated, meanwhile they had been slaughtering Hashira the whole time. And arguably, and Muzan says this himself at the beginning of season 3, Gyutaro only lost because his sister Daki was a weakness for him. Had he fought them without her being there, he wouldn’t have lost. I think the power levels get lost a little to some people, they don’t realize just how op the upper 6 are.

They admit that the animation is top tier, and when DS is good, ITS REALLY GOOD, its just that when its slow, I can see why some people wouldn't be as into it. I love it though

Before the arc with Rengokou, the Hashira were just these unreachable "gods" that every other swordsman looked up to. Then in that arc, it was tough to see one go down, and knowing the MC couldn't do much to help made it feel so much worse. After that, with the entertainment arc, Tengen isn't even the strongest but seeing them conquer that upper 6 without anyone dying this time felt like major growth, even though Tengen was forced to retire from his injuries. The training arc was/is necessary in the frame of the story because its obvious Tanjiro and company isnt good enough yet. He's gotten so much stronger, but the gap is still obvious. I can't wait for the last arc of the show, to see that animated is gonna be unreal.
