That Jaimie and Cersei scene that ya’ll mentioned in the beginning from last episode is a perfect example of how Dave and Dan take things too far. That is a pretty huge deviation from the books. Not denying at all, Jaimie assaults Cersei. So I am not all excusing Jaimie’s actions. In the books though it is not nearly as aggressive and forceful. If we look back at season one too, one of the weirder scenes that was super weird to ya’ll, was that sex scene with those two women while little finger was just giving exposition. I love this show, but this is one of my biggest and only gripes with it

you cant really say Jamie has "no honor".. yes he has that reputation for stabbing the Mad King in the back, but we heard the true story of that last season and turns out despite what everyone in the kingdom thinks of him, him killing his king was actually the honorable thing to do in that moment. Its just that no one knows the true story.. He heard Cersei was looking for Sansa and that she wanted her dead but he went against her, the woman he loves more than almost anything else, and charged Brienne with finding and protecting Sansa because he had sworn an oath to Catelyn. He has made mistakes but i do think he is an honorable man that takes his vows seriously.

But you can visibly see Canon's frustration with Jack's speculation, and I'm pretty sure no one wants something spoiled for them (both fandom and Carter/Briggs alike). They usually don' see that they set expectations = spoiling; They indirectly tell the character lives till season YY = Spoiling ... Some folks just don't get it ... tbh I think jack falls into the category that both my siblings fall into as well, which is just "oversharing because of excitement" and unfortunately, it can definitely swerve into spoiler territory when their brain doesn't keep up with their mouth. my twin sister literally said somebody important dies really early in season four (alluding to the purple wedding) and followed it up with "but it's okay, it's no one you like" like that was supposed to help things lmao. again, I think the "best" solution would be to move mckay next to jack so that jack can freely comment on stuff to mckay (who has also seen the show) as right now, it feels like it's mostly cannon that has to deal with jack commenting on a lot of things. in the grand scheme of things, comments like "god, I hate this dude" when a new character is introduced might not seem like a spoiler at first but obviously comments like that makes it clear that this character probably will stick around + probably does some evil stuff since people re-watching still hate him. just small stuff new viewers wouldn't be aware of! either way, this is the only time I will comment on the jack situation since I feel like it's getting out of hand and just wanted to share my two cents since I can relate to jack's constant comments lmao. great episode as always my guys!

It really doesn’t… the pacing for seasons 1-6 are perfect especially for people who watched it live while the episodes were premiering. It’s season 7-8 that’s iffy. The issue is that they’re watching episodes back to back while live viewers had to stew and wait on a weekly basis for every new episode and then yearly for each new season.

I would agree with you but some of it is valid. I think we’ve had a good run for the past 3 seasons and even i believe Jack has come a long way. I think the issue is that Jack has been getting hyped up lately (most likely because more pieces of the puzzle are starting to align and crazier scenes are coming) and that’s made him make unnecessary commentary, almost like he can’t hold it in which I understand cause it’s exciting. I just think alluding to certain things or asking questions when he’s already watched the show during important dialogue moments is what’s turning people off. The boys do a good job at ignoring what he says most of the time but in this episode you can clearly see cannon was annoyed. As someone who’s been critical of Jack in the past, he’s been doing a great job!! And tbh he literally doesn’t remember majority of what he watches. Please cut him some slack. I will say the only thing that kinda has been “annoying” me lately is the talking over Jon’s dialogue. I get that this is a reaction channel and that they have comments to say which I love and it’s why I pay monthly to watch BUT I fear that his dialogue is not as “respected”, for lack of a better word, compared to other characters. It’s just a worry that this is an upward trend. I have no real complaints I just hope this is something the geks keep in mind overall. I still want the genuine reactions and insight. Lago, we get it. Most people hated the last few seasons. I watched every season live and was devastated at the downturn myself. That said, many people who watch it now don't have the same aversion to those seasons because they know people were disappointed -- Our expectations were different at the time than theirs are now. Most people who binge the show today don't "love" the last few seasons but think they are fine, and there are some good singular moments. These guys know plenty of people hated the end of the series, so there's no sense harping on about it like you have in a dozen comments. Honestly, if you want to vent about how much you hate it, there are much better places for that. People still talk about it daily on reddit.

The pacing does play up and down from season 4 on. Cannon isnt wrong. His coming from a cinephile who is obsessed with all things tv and movie from development to distribution to production and marketing etc. there is a feature the you guys should absolutely watch at the end of the series. Its shows the behind the scenes of the show and the epic efforts that were made to make this show. Also follows an extra who was there from the beginning and a few people from hair and costume etc it’s absolutely amazing to see what goes in to making a show of this caliber. You cannot write a character saying that he loves animals for 3 seasons and in the end for no reason at all he just tortures an animal. That is bad writing and people will notice that as if you had written 2+2=5. This happens a lot in the end. How would you feel if daernerys out of nowhere had 10 dragons instead of 3? Well me too but we cannot escape ratings and headlines and people talking in general . It is also not very good to go on randomly on a show, you will end up wasting time most of the time. We try to go with very few preconceived notions but at least knowing that the show is good. And I think if anything, warning them can make them like more the ending than not, because for us it was a huge disappointment, nothing could prepare us for the shitshow that was season 8. I find very difficult that they don’t see all the bullshit, but by lowering the expectations they can feel less devasted in the end. That is my only fear, that because of that in the end they go like “it was not that bad guys”. Nah man I work with ppl who seen GoT during covid and they seen no problem with the ending I watched GoT when it first aired back in 2011 and watched it all the way through it's a difference in those who've seen it when it aired versus those who didn't they don't have a real bond with the show so they don't see the ending as bad or horrible so in actual reality the boys might just like it. Loved the reaction as always boys! Just one thing that you guys mentioned in the beginning of the video… regarding the pacing of this season. Just to put things into perspective: This is the issue with being able to binge or watch multiple seasons back to back. As someone who started watching GOT when S3 was just premiering, Joffrey’s death was something majority of people (live viewers) were wishing for YEARS. So to us it was not something that happened too soon or too quickly… it was PERFECT. Especially after the Red wedding which took us a year to come to terms with until S4 premiered. All people wanted was swift and divine JUSTICE. Trust that the pacing of this show from 1-6 was PEAK for those of us that had been watching the show from the very beginning. I hope this helps put things into perspective. Compared to HOTD, with their time skips, GOT is considered very slow pacing but im sure you guys know and understand that!

Guys I know I say a lot of stuff out loud and ask questions about what’s happening, I wouldn’t just say blatant spoilers out loud! When I ask questions, they are legit, even though sometimes with things like Ollie in the last episode it was just that I genuinely forgot who he was. It’s hard to react to the show and not question things that I don’t remember or even know, like the white walkers/baby stuff. I watched this show by myself the first time, it’s just not easy to react perfectly every time we watch without being who I genuinely am. I think the main issue is that Jack constantly thinks out loud. Asking questions and thinking out loud is completely fine and is what people expect from a reaction channel. However, the problem is Jack has already seen the show. He asks specific questions that hint at upcoming plot points or developments and often answers his own questions before they are revealed, likely because he subconsciously remembers what's going to happen.

The actor who played Tommen was seventeen years old at the time of this episode. The actress who played Margaery said there would be no kissing on the mouth as long as he was under eighteen. I’m not really sure what the ages of the two characters is supposed to be in the television show at this time. In the books Margaery was 14 and Tommen was 8 at this point in the books. And there was obviously no physical intimacy of any sort. There were actually times historically where young royals were married at very young ages. But these were political alliances and the couple did not have any type of physical relationship until it was appropriate for their times. And while that would have been a little younger than we consider appropriate by our modern standards, it wasn’t when they were still children. Unfortunately the show runners who created this series added a lots of the gratuitous sex and violent sex that is not in the books. I’m not trying to say that there isn’t lots of terrible acts that are part of the book series. But for the most part, those scenes are not played out in a detail, and the majority of it is done off page. For example, the books do not have any of the torture scenes that the television show portrayed of Theon last season. In the books he disappears after Northern soldiers turn up and destroy the few Iron Born soldiers with Theon. When he eventually turns back up, he is terribly altered. You get an understanding that he has been tortured terribly by Ramsey, but it is all off page. The type of scenes going on in this episode are not what you have in the books. Yes, there are scenes that take place in brothels, but you don’t get gratuitous details. And you never hear anything about what the deserters at Craster’s get up to. They are killed. And I won’t provide any details here, as that would be a spoiler for people who are yet to read the books. Because it involves a variety of details that are definitely left out of the television show. My entire point here is that, a huge amount of the things that you guys find objectionable, or have problems with, were made up by the television show creators and you would find that the book story is a very different experience.

But it really isn’t opinion. Last season is objectively and factually bad. There are people that believes the earth is flat. You don’t go on people studying science and say “hey, I just saw a video of a guy saying how much he loves the fact that the earth is flat, you all might agree with him too! Honestly I liked a lot of s7 and s8 has some really epic moments. I think people who binge will definitely enjoy it more than those of us who had to wait year after year (and week after week) for the later seasons and episodes to air.

Carter is a very analytical guy, some of his previous comments about why he doesnt like certain scenes will really come into play later in the show and he will start to dislike the direction. He might not be a late season hater, but he will definitely notice the issues like we all do. I actually binged the show in preparation for season 8 and really started to notice the drop off in season 5, season 6 is also poor with only two fantastic episodes. Season 7 and 8 were pure trash from my point of view

I hate that Sansa has to become a "warrior" type character to be considered a more likable character. A female character can be feminine and still be very likable & make big moves in the show. So far Sansa has survived, not because she's a warrior, but because people see her as a "innocent weak" person. Being feminine and quiet has worked in her favour.

I don’t want to be rude or toxic, I just have a suggestion for Jack. It’s cool to be excited about this show and I imagine the reason you state certain future events is because you don’t want the other Geks to miss anything on a first watch. But sometimes spoiling the event or theory before it happens kills the excitement and is counter-productive. Just remember at one point you watched the show with no knowledge of what came next and survived, they will too, you all are smart people :)

Response to your end comments, I think people who binge this show are way less annoyed/upset about season 7-8. I personally think 1-4 are the best of GoT but people who binge/watch all at once mostly enjoy 6 the most. A big part of the visceral reaction to the ending is many people watched this show all the way since 2011 and many also followed the story since the early 2000s with the books. You guys will still enjoy most of the show

The White Walkers are meant to be more of a background storyline / existential threat that pops up every now and then to remind you that all of this throne / political nonsense is really irrelevant. George wrote it using climate change as an inspiration, and as social commentary on how people live their normal lives with this existential threat going on in the background and how inconsequential a lot of our issues are in the world when there’s this storm brewing in the background.

I love Jack but I wish he would be more like MCKAY in these reactions. Only really respond to things that need clarification from the crew that has already been fully divulged. Some of his questioning and commenting, while meant to be benign, is provoking the crew to sometimes guess things and believe the stuff he says. I think he should kind of follow suit with how the others react to stuff they have already seen in other shows. If he 100% hadn't seen this show I'd say his line of questioning and comments were awesome and right on. Instead, I get distracted on whether the crew is listening to some of the things he says and if they think it's weird, he's acting like he doesn't know what's about to happen.
