They way Kabuto and Orochimaru leave isn't untraceable. Kabuto uses a smoke and quickly jumps to the nearest cover and runs from there this is just how the anime decides to depict it. Jiraiya and Tsunade could've followed but they were exhausted and decided against it. Orochimaru does have to come up somewhere and they could've found him too, but yeah they decided against chasing him since they were hurt.

The Naruto moment that got me the most probably is a filler episode right at the tail end of Shippuden. A flashback where he's a little kid with the green shirt and huge goggles, Hinata is gettinh bullied by some kids in a forest in the snow and Naruto shows up, from what I remember he solves everything and makes sure Hinata is okay and then leaves by himself, probably the first time Hinata ever met him. Then he walks home all by himself lonely, we see him through the dark streets, he gets to his door and goes straight to bed, looks up at the ceiling and just starts crying. I don't think I can even write this without crying everytime. And you just know he woke up the next day and pretended everything was okay. I legit haven't seen many times where loneliness was portrayed so well like that.

To Carter's point, Naruto (and Shippuden) is about a clash of philosophies. Throughout the series, there are lots of parallels and Juxstopositions and the plot really brings it out beautifully. If you watch the show as a clash of philosophies told through a story you get to recognize the genius of the show. (ie., Neji v Naruto, Gara v Naruto etc..)

Cannon were you talking about that Jiraiya scene that got you? The moment a few episodes ago when Naruto was training with Jiraiya and then later when Naruto saw a kid on the street getting ice cream from his dad, to then feel all depressed he doesnt have anyone looking out for him like that... a few scenes later he got mad at Jiraiya, but then Jiraiya surprised him with the ice cream, showing him he actually is there for him. That scene got me very emotional. That ice cream moment is a very important one for Naruto.

What are you guys cooking with Gojo really, there's so much to him told to us in text in Hidden Inventory and through subtext. If you say this about Gojo then Naruto might've been the right choice for you guys because Bleach storytelling is similar to JJK where it's a lot of subtext and it seems simple on the surface whereas Naruto is more overt with it's characterisation and theming. Just to be clear I love Naruto more but both are amazing you just need to meet the story halfway but obviously you can have a preference.

Yeah it's understandable why it hits for so many people because it literally establishes the entire story of Naruto and Naruto's Ninja Way. Unlike many haters and illiterate people that think Naruto's main theme is 'Handwork vs. Talent', the actual theme of the story is about bonds between people and this need to overcome the notion that ninja are just tools and it's ALL contained in the Land of the Waves arc

About the example of Gojo…I’d say, we’ve had less interactions with him as we’ve had less episodes of him than most characters in Naruto due to the difference of show length. Buttt, I’d argue that Naruto shoves the characters’ character in your face, while in JJK or Gojo specifically - it’s more left to your interpretation based on small details. Like about Gojo - I could say we know he is very caring about the youth, trying to bear the burden of being the strongest which makes him compassionate beyond his funny and chaotic personality on the surface. He puts other people’s needs above his own, as seen when he killed Geto and when he used that 0.2 domain exp. And about Gojo specifically - many people do tend to skip over his true character and associate him only with his strength (and looks lol). In Naruto the author tells you everything about the characters and you don’t have to dig their words or actions in order to analyze them.

2 episodes!!!!!???? 😭 I will take it. Again pleaseeee keep in mind Naruto doesn't give you everything up front and wants to surprise you with the secret weapons/jutsus. It has been repeated a gazillion times they have to be strategic about using Chakra because there's difficulty LEVELS for each jutsu so Kabuto poofing 100m will require a different amt of chakra than 500m, to me its just logical chakra math. Also not everyone can master the same skill to the point of being able to whip it out the instant before death to escape. Like real life, there's the fight or flight response for these ninjas and makes the show more realistic in my opinion.

The frog, toad, and slug have meaning. The "Legendary Sannin" in Naruto are based on the characters from the Japanese folk tale "The Tale of The Gallant Jiraiya" in which Jiraiya and Tsunade used toad and slug magic (respectively) against Orochimaru, the evil son of a serpent. The slug, frog, and snake is a much used theme throughout japanese mythology. It's kind of like rock paper scissors, snake beats frog, frog beats slug, slug beats snake. Also, about snails, if you'd look into your girlfriends' skincare routine maybe you'd find them using snail mucin products which are very good for the skin and restoration. it's just recently gained popularity in the West whereas in Asia it's been a staple in skincare. No wonder it's a fitting animal for Tsunade who's a healer and concerned with maintaining her youthful looks.

Agree that the pacing is a problem until that arc, but early shippuden still cooks in terms of hype

first few arcs are dragged out and dull, only starts cooking with the Shikamaru arc

Zabusa bridge arc is meh, it was 5 episodes too long. Turning into logs and copy cat jitsu got boring I dropped it for a while. Chunin exams changed the show for me, the new characters and unpredictability of the plot.
