But it’s interesting to wonder whether Aemond would’ve finished his own brother off if Cole had not arrived or if he simply had his sword out because he’s on a battlefield. It certainly looked like he was on the way to finish off aegon.

I got chills when you all praised Rhaenys. I cried, again. 💔 Rhaenys is my Queen! My favorite character in the book Fire and Blood. Highly recommend reading it or listen in group.

He played both Criston Cole and his brother perfectly; he wound up his brother to the point where he knew he would take his dragon into the action, and he deliberately held back when Cole gave the signal for Vhagar to enter the fray. And he was putting his sword back in it's sheath when Cole found him with the king's bady. Probably administered the coup de grace. Cole is not only Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, he is the Hand of the king. So this debacle (he was even unconscious when Rook's Rest fell) will be placed firmly at his door. Everyone knew how rash Cole was - cf the Erik/Arryk assassination attempt - and no-one will know about Aegon sabotaging the supposed "plan" cooked up by Cole when he held Vhagar back after the signal was sounded, so Cole will be blamed for the death of the king - especially be Alicent.

It is blatantly obvious how HOTD revels in depicting ALL its male characters as pathetic, shortsighted, and selfish compared to female characters. Not even mentioning the multiple exploitative nude scenes ONLY with Green characters, even those who are meant to be FOURTEEN YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. Just watch an episode of GOT and then an episode of HOTD back to back. It is blatantly obvious how sick and perverted HOTD’s showrunners are.
