In case, DARK and the Vikings are tied, I think you guys should honestly proceed with DARK first. Not only is Dark an absolutely amazing show but it would be very refreshing to have something from an entirely different genre than we are currently used to, on the channel. Vikings instead, would be more of the same since we already have two similar shows in HOTD and GOT running concurrently at this point of time. So it would be better if you go with DARK and come back to Vikings later.

It was created and written by a former crime beat reporter who worked for The Baltimore Sun. He based some of the plot and characters off of real people and situations he wrote about. It spotlights the systemic connections between poverty, drug use, corrupt police and city politicians, and underfunded schools. I promise it is not “boring” just because it was made in 2002. The characters are excellent and memorable. So give it a chance if that sounds interesting to you!

They seem to like high fantasy and historical fiction a lot from what I can tell. They seem to appreciate a good story with good worldbuilding / characters. Vikings is likely what they would enjoy the most. It's a well written action-drama historical fiction story with swords, blood, and high stakes. Basically high fantasy without the magic.

Dark will be the most engaging show you can watch here and yall with love it. Breaking Bad will be an amazing GoT replacement when the time comes. Stranger Things would be an amazing watch as well & would be perfect to watch the months before the final season releases next summer bc the hype will be starting. Succession is amazing, but don’t know if you’d like it as a reaction show. TWD is good for first few seasons but is genuinely awful for the last like 6 seasons (as someone who watched the show from beginning to end as it aired). Chernobyl is the single greatest mini series ever. Narcos is extremely underrated.

Majority of their anime content is in Japanese with subtitles, so I am pretty sure they will have no problem watching live action shows in another language. Taking Dark as an example, they can even watch it in English. If the can keep up with GOT then they won’t struggle with Dark. Haven’t seen Alice in Borderland therefore I cannot comment on that

Succession is the perfect modern show. It’s surprising, funny and never fails to make its viewers feel on edge. It gets better with each season and doesn’t have any fails. I literally don’t know how to criticise this show because it’s so well-rounded. The Walking Dead would from seasons 1-7 is great. It has shocking moments and in some way I would compare it to Naruto (ik it’s weird, bare with me). It has it’s slow moments but after all they all lead up to HUGE peaks. I like it more than HOTD. It has a strong cast of characters that you will get attached to. And some episodes of TWD may even top the red wedding of GOT

I love The Last Kingdom! The actor who plays Aemond is in that show and he plays a completely different character. It was such a weird change to see him in HotD. Didn't recognize him at first. My fiance had to point out it was "Baby Monk".
