I was excited to watch Dark too since I've never seen it, but I definitely enjoyed Shogun and think it will do well here. It's similar in vibes to some current shows, but also a different side of the world so it will feel different and familiar all in one. Plus the historical influence gives it an extra lil intrigue.

From previous experiences on other polls ( mostly the anime ones ), my advice to some Dark fans who are getting a little out of hand. Keep your comments CLEAN, hype up your fav but DO NOT trash on or put down the other shows. That is a big turn off for voters of said shows here and therefore turns them against you and your favourite show. It is a petty act but honestly speaking when you disrespect their feelings of liking a show all cause your show that you think is better ( but not everyone feels the same way ) ain’t winning clearly in these polls, it’s deserved. People have a right to be passionate about the series they want the guys to watch and hopefully enjoy too but don’t be a loser and start taking your frustrations out on others by dogging on their favourite show when yours ain’t in the lead. I am surprised by the results of this second poll honestly. Shogun showed up and instantly turned the tide on the Vikings which was fighting with Dark for the top spot as the voters were swayed towards Shogun by the looks of it. Given that both the Vikings and Shogun both fit in historical war drama genre, I guess the consensus is that Shogun is deemed to be a better show than the former although it only has a single season till now. That's quite interesting and provides a perspective for someone like me who hasn't watched either. Always thought Vikings was highly acclaimed and was considered only next to GOT but a very recent and newer show toppled it quite comfortably over here so maybe it's not as good as I have heard maybe.

Dark is practically tailor-made for reacting/theorizing. BUT I think you guys gotta start incorporating some pauses into your watch if you pick that one. Too many confusing things happen too quickly in that show—if you start trying figure out one thing while it’s still playing, you’ll miss the next thing. Vikings has it's ups and downs, more downs toward the later seasons, but one advantage it has is that it's a completed series.

I don’t really care much for Dark, haven’t watched it honestly speaking but that’s cause it’s a type of genre of drama series I don’t fancy much. Shogun on the other hand is right up my alley, it may win due to recency bias but in my eyes it’s a great series all the same. It gives off the same vibes as some of my favourite manga like Kingdom, Vagabond, Drifters etc. Those type of historical influenced stories are what I enjoy a lot. So that’s why I’m voting for it, though I do wish they get to react to AIB one day since that’s also a really great series

The wire is 5 seasons and has a higher IMDB rating at 9.3 than all these shows but Breaking Bad (Chernobyl has the same rating but only has one season so The Wire with 5 seasons is way more impressive and harder to keep that high rating. I know the wire isn’t up there because a lot of people haven’t seen it but that show is the closest in terms of game of thrones/house of the dragon high quality storytelling with terrific dialogue, a large ensemble of good/bad/grey characters on both the good and bad sides, highly unpredictable and realistic and violent. It’s just Baltimore instead of Westeros, and instead highborn lords and lowborn folk we get cops/people who work for different levels of law enforcement vs people who work at different levels of the drug criminal empire from corner boys to the muscle to the top dogs. There’s rival gangs too and it feels extremely modern and relevant, like it was made today, thanks to the story about police and race and drugs and poverty. It’s really great and feels closest to terms of GOT quality of any show I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot.
