So yeah Neji might be strong when you compare him to a bunch of Genin at the Chunin exam, but these guys are on another level compared to the people at the exam. It didn't take away from the reaction at all. The skepticism they have over his death is natural when watching it as an adult. I watched this for the first time during the pandemic and I couldn't believe it because Tsunade had made it seem like they were living in peaceful times and not war times. I didn't think she'd send them if she knew it was that dangerous. Also being an adult and looking at it from the retrospect that this is a show that kids watched and the characters themselves were kids, it didn't seem that they'd go that far. So don't get on Brig about it, that's his natural reaction to his boyz watching a show he loves just like us sitting at home watching them. If they had a problem with it they would tell him.

Despite the butterflies fading away, the title of the episode, Choji slumping over & Shikamaru looking back - they still somehow think he’s alive which sucks because I think that kind of took away what would have been a more pure\authentic reaction of seeing a character die & now they somehow have hope that he’s alive 🤦🏾♂️. Before yall get on me and say I’m just complaining for no reason I know his death is confirmed later in this arc so the geks will find out regardless and they will have to jump in the pool but this comment is more about just trying to make Brig & McKay aware of the certain reactions they have during scenes and how that affects the first time viewing experience of the other geks.

But to call these episodes Ass; when most other episodes(in early Naruto) compared to these ones are ABYSSMAL with their 9 min recaps, constant flashbacks and extremely slow pace in fights... These eps practically improve on all of those aspects(except the titles), and it gives us an EXTREMELY SMALL taste as what's to come in early Shippuden(not for the characters but rather the fight pacing). I don't know what your standards for shonen anime are, new-gen shonen are obviously better paced generally. I'm personally just shocked this is coming from someone who has a Genma pfp.

So it's supposed to make at least a little bit of sense in our universe why he would just turn into a bully in that moment instead of going for a kill immediately.

And the more you use it the faster it progresses. So I imagine in naruto world you don't jump to stage 2 and give the curse mark progress unless you need to

Like I feel 2 uploads of 3 episodes each week could really make the experience a lot better for them and also us as viewers. 4 eps has been a good pace for OG but they might enjoy Shippuden much more at a faster pace

It would also help them be more in tune with the story and make it hit harder, which might help Carter connect to the story more (which he said he struggles with sometimes). I really think they would enjoy Shippuden at a faster pace
