It can be cheesy sometimes but pre Shippuden is more kid friendly writing I will say, too much explanation and not much importance to detail (in the anime). It gets more serious in Shippuden. Honestly you hindered the experience for yourself through tik toks because it can't be compared, I run into the same problem with people in sports because they watch stuff through highlights and think they undertand what's going on. You gotta know what Naruto is and not expect something else, maybe I went through the same phase you're at, like "discovering it was this slow and not tightly written as I remembered", but to me it was more gradual because growing up "with anime" I noticed the jump in production and the difference contexts.

It’s just the same concept. Things in Disney shows as a kid I thought were funny are now beyond cringe. Last time I watched this anime i never remember the cheesy writing and the pacing being so awful. What I mean by watching through TikTok’s is I hadn’t watched the show in years but I watched hundreds of TikTok edits of the show so I would keep watching the show through edits and the edits were awesome because it was all my favorite parts, and now I come watch it all the way through again and those parts are spaced out by like 20 episodes each and everything in between is just so mid and it makes me sad but it is what it is

Honestly these batch of eps arent that good at all, so I do agree with them being mid take... Although Its extremely weird to me you have a Genma pfp calling the previous eps ass(that were actually pretty damn freaking good by most battle-shonen standards). OG Naruto in general has horrible pacing overall, most people who are fans of it know that. But imho the previous batch of eps were solid 7/10s if not 8-9/10s. They werent peak of the peak, but its really hard to call them bad imo. I just wonder what types of eps you consider good for a shonen nowadays. Cause clearly you're no longer a fan of OG Naruto.

I’m literally brand new to the patreon and have commented on 2 videos, I just found this channel through their AoT reactions on YouTube and binged it and when I saw they were doing Naruto I just had to get the patreon and have been binging to get caught up. I’ve been watching Naruto again through TikTok’s ngl for years and this is my first time actually watching the whole thing through again and it has been not great and I understand if it works for you to still love it purely on nostalgia and the good moments have been awesome to see again but the other 70% of the show has been not very good. If you can't appreciate why you liked it so much when you were a kid it's a you problem, nostalgia alone should be enough to like it tbh. Revisiting some of my favorite childhood characters and iconic fights is awesome. Yeah the anime is slow as fuck, yeah the animation is beyond dated, but I knew that already. Shippuden has some actual peak moments though

Yes I was not bothered by them as much at all. here in og fights are even slow pacing and then on top of that they cut to a flashback. Maybe even a flashback from earlier in the ep 😭😭 I will say tho the uchiha/swing happen a ton lol but I still loved the show

as someone who watched all of naruto two years ago as an adult, I legit couldn’t stand og except the last 5 eps (sorry 🤷🏽‍♀️) but I loved shippuden. There are def a lot of flashbacks but the story is just better/more going on so I didn’t mind as much.

Nine Tails’ chakra surfaces in Naruto when he is angry or emotionally triggered. This happened during the fight with Haku, orochimaru during the chunin exams, etc Jiraiya taught Naruto to use the nine tails’ chakra when he has none of his own chakra left, but that is not a necessary factor

Yeah, the reason the two Jōnin lost was because the Sound Four all went Stage 2. The Sound Four took a break due to tiredness after the fight (which allowed Naruto's group to catch up) because it was such a difficult battle despite them all transforming. I guess the reason they didn't show the battle was so they could surprise the viewer with each of their unique transformations during their 1 v 1 fights.
