This is old, but it's not entirely unbelievable that he would burn Shireen. Yes, Stannis is all about duty, justice, and etc - to a sometimes heartless extent. And yes, this includes his family, but he also sleeps with Melisandre to produce a shadow baby and he lets Melisandre burn people alive for a religion he doesn't believe in. He does these things because he believes they'll help him win the war, so I could see him sacrificing his child if he thinks it will save the world.

2024-08-09 02:36:58 +0000 UTCi definitely agree you, this show has its good parts as well as bad but there is an insufferable group in this fandom that for some reason can’t let go that a show butchered their favorite character in a book about dire wolves, dragons, and witches. i get it, i love the franchise too, but at some point you have to let it go and let new viewers experience that for themselves. if i was going to watch a movie or a show i would absolutely be annoyed with someone talking down my ear telling me it’s terrible and how much they hate it. at the end of the day who cares??? your experience isn’t the same as the next person and people need to learn to accept it. majority of the people still hating on the show are in their 30s and chronically online. i also did not appreciate the ending, but that doesn’t mean i will dedicate my life to sh*t talking it to others.

I was legit sobbing, my strongest reaction since Ned died, even stronger actually, and yelled “I hate you Stannis!!” at the screen 😆. It’s funny watching you guys think it’s crazy to see bareback riding. For us it was crazy to see saddles! lol I agree the fight stuff was pretty silly at times, though it’s always fun to see how Goated Jorah is. He reminds me of a man I know from work. He looks old and weathered, but then you see him work and he’s truly the fittest most energetic person on our team.

Since you love imdb scores so much aot finale has an 8.8 score which is actually low/mid by aot standards but that score is affected by extreme haters. Meanwhile got finale has a score of 4 which is just an atrocious score by got standards

The first suggestion, was they extract the audio from the episode, and layer it with their voices, then mix tracks and compress the vocals to prevent sudden spikes in volume. But i guess you didn't read that.. Only suggested that the mic to TV thing, IF for some reasons they couldn't do the prior. It's not adequate at all. The lack of focus on extras and stuff does take away from scenes when it's necessary. They can't just rely on music and people turning their brains off to only be into the big plot finale moments. GoT always cared about exectuing in full progressive context so it's easy to see when they aren't doing that.

He's a flawed character, especially given his relationship with the lord of light, but he's very similar to Ned in his honour, duty, and even his love for his daughter. He doesn't burn Shireen in the books and he would never burn her. It doesn't make any sense given what we know about him. He values duty above all else including the duty to his family and is willing to sacrifice everything for that. This huge change and the changes to Sansa were some of the biggest complaints when this first aired because it's wildly different from the books but in a worse (and for some reason way more twisted) way. John's arc cooks in this season though and hardhome was sick so we'll always have that.

But there's an ongoing issue, that many have pointed out. That even you Carter, have pointed out. And that is, the freakin sound !!! So. First I'm going to provide you two suggestions that can definitely, fix this issue forever. And make the experience of viewer very comfortable. And without the fear of earrapes. Two main solutions,(and a.. third): 1: Record the voices, have one microphone close to you all and extract the audio from the episode that you guys are watching, and then in the audio editing software, layer them together, so that both are equally loud. And make sure to compress the audio from the vocal sound to avoid sudden spikes and earrape.. it happened to me a couple of time guys, and in all honesty, when you have pro headphones, it's extremely painful.. 2: Buy a great omni-directional microphone. Such as "Shure MX391/O" or "Zoom H4n Pro Black". Which pretty much do an incredible job recording all directions properly. Then, only a little bit of editing does the job for the finishing touch. 3: if for some reason you can't do the priors. Have two microphones. One that records in front of the TV, one in front up close to you guys. And mix the two tracks together, by also compressing the signals of the voices, to avoid sudden spikes and earrapes. Whatever you guys decide. Please do not ignore this anymore. It's geniunely painful to get earraped for free, when all I wanted to do, was increase the volume to better hear the background show.. but once you guys shout during reactions, it's excrutiatingly painful. Especially for people like me that have Misophonia. I'm willing to provide on-call help on how to compress/limit a sound, even make one or two episode mixings for free as demonstrations, as starters to help you guys. If not, there are countless tutorials online too.

Season 5 of got is simply an average season overall with poor writing in lots of places. Saying that things are non issues like the spears is simply an excuse to turn your brain off while watching a show which is not what the boys do, they like to watch a show and analyse, it is far better then reactors who just yell and shout with excitement at every single thing. Also the reason aot didn’t get any hate is simply because it is a fantastic show from start to finish, all 90 episodes are good to incredible while game of thrones is only incredible for 4 seasons and average to terrible for 4 seasons.

I can call out so many of these cheese stuff of many shows, people shooting guns and miss everything etc etc. but idc personally, i always try to justify it in my head and not overthink scenes to detail, most shows specially fiction get ruined if you look at things like that. The geks love Lord of the rings, but even those movies have many cheese stuff with the heroes not getting hit by many stuff and by pure luck live through things that 99% of the time they should die.

It’s the perfect example of this. They loved it, shared some concerns but ultimately thought it was a perfect ending. They have a right to not like something, critique something. They may come around to it and they may not. That’s up to them based on their RAW reactions. Another perfect example of the Geks coming around to something was the first part of season 3 of AOT. I too was disappointed that they were so turned off they missed key moments and amazing scenes overshadowed by their brains going “what the fuck is this?” But the writing in this season has its problems which are noticeable! That’s a fact. To expect the boys to accept or give it some slack is outrageous. At this time, because nothing is better than the present, they still love the show! Isn’t that all that matters? Back when everyone was hyped about GOT it’s easy to miss bad moments or recognize it for what it truly is. Same goes for anything. Time has moved on and now these things are recognizable because hype and praise isn’t overshadowing the actually writing/plot. I feel this way about Breaking Bad. It was good at the time and it still is but I notice more things that I don’t like about it. By reacting to negative comments you are pretty much validating those negative comments. Ignore it, praise your show, tell the Geks they’re going to love it. Positivity is just as powerful or more so than negativity. Behaving sensitively about others opinions is really weird to me. If you think they’re wrong they’re wrong. Acknowledge the negative comment, feel your feelings and consider if it’s worth your time or not. But ranting about how the boys are being influenced by this is not the way because guess what? Now you’ve brought the attention back to the negative responses. Now that’s all the boys are going to see. Just my two cents.

I had mine out a few years ago, randomly for an entire day it felt like someone stuck a knife in my gut, then later that night I self diagnosed it and went straight to the ER. It was hard (but not impossible) to move for about a week after the operation, but I will say the WORST pain to come from it all was from the catheter. I never had a major surgery before that so I had no idea, but for a few days peeing was the worst pain I'd ever experienced. Wishing you the best bro!!

Seasons 7-8 are definitely riddled with them, but I refuse to accept that S5-S6 are not S-tier even if the writing/dialogue is not as good as S1-S4. The payoffs make up for whatever is lacking. Also, I stand by GOT being the best show of our generation even with S7-S8. Literally nothing compares to it. It’s shitiest seasons are 1000x better than any other garbage put out by Netflix, HULU, Prime, etc combined. Cry about it!

2024-08-07 15:52:43 +0000 UTCOne way I can explain the last scene in my own head without it feeling badly written is that those guys throwing spears were so AWESTRUCK when they saw Daenerys climb Drogon so they just stood there looking at something they have never imagined they'd see in their life. It must have seemed to them as if she was a magical being so they were just WITNESSING something unimaginable happening. No living man has ever seen dragon riding at that point. It was something only told in stories. If ONLY the writers just included a SINGLE shot of those guys with the spears staring at that sight of her and being in AWE of her, then the scene would have been perfect for me and would have fixed the problems with dumb logic of why didnt they just kill her or keep throwing more spears when they had the chance.

Jon in the show to me is so Ned coded and the parallels they draw between the two i love. He makes his mistakes but his honor is what drives him. Jon is not someone i need to be gray or more nuanced, just like Ned. Hes the most like him of all the kids. i think hes such a good character.

I wouldn't say Jon has any major problems with his character in season 4; it's more of an adaption problem where his character is extremely dumbed down and oversimplified.

The fights and combat we got in HotD have been much better than in GoT in my opinion. Many of the fights in GoT are disappointing if you're looking for logic or realism lol, but it gets more noticeable in these later seasons.

Theres so much white noise because the gain is too high, I can barely hear the video audio. You're probably the only reactors that 1. eat while reacting. 2. have your mics 6 feet away 3. something else i cant remember. Oh the gain, and the mic pattern settings. you need to set it so it only picks up from the direction of your voices and add the audio from the show in post.

The show also has this trend of changing/simplifying characters and events for the audience, and this sometimes creates more of a "good vs bad" feel. In other instances, it straight up betrays characters; I'm not just talking about betrayal compared to book counterparts either.

Stannis can't go back to Castle Black and I doubt he'd send word to Castle Black to bring Shireen to him, so he likely has to defeat the Boltons first. After returning to Castle Black, I think a larger threat might motivate him to burn Shireen, but hopefully, the next book will be released so we can know for certain. This is but one of the examples of character/event changes that I dislike in this season.

Fun fact, when they shot it Emilia Clark said the word fly but they wanted to go back and use Valyrian but the closest thing to match the mouth movements of “fly” was a Dothraki word “vlad” which is like “ascend” I think but yeah, Drogon is already bilingual from his time with Dany’s small Khalasar haha
