Now that the team is mostly established, it only gets better and better imo, as the games get more interesting and the exploration of each character and their relationships with each other get more nuanced. Which is VERY rare for Haikyuu related things. The only other time the fans of HQ are fighting is when it involves other sports anime fans ( mainly Kuroko no Basket or Blue Lock fans ). I don’t know if it’s jealousy or whatever cause Haikyuu gets the most attention and praise ( which is deserved ) in the sports anime scene but other KnB and also BL fans always love to talk a lot sht on HQ or try and put it down. I’m a KnB fan too but sometimes I can’t stand other KnB fans, they can be so toxic towards fans of other sports anime. Anyways that’s normally the only time you see HQ fans get provoked and start to fight back but usually they are pretty chill, they don’t start sht randomly and it’s very rare of them to talk bad on other anime or other peoples opinions

It’s one of the only communities in anime I still enjoy interacting with other fans cause a lot of them are very welcoming and nice. Yeah they can get a little passionate and very opinionated at times but that’s down to them really enjoying the series but the positive vibes Haikyuu fans give off are addicting

I watched haikyuu for the first time after 2 years from graduating high school and it did in fact hit me so hard because I was in the soccer team in school and I relate to so many things, the friends, matches, losing and winning emotions, feeling sad, happy, nervous, and excited, istg that there are like details in this anime that was the same in my high school team experience making this anime so special to me

Watched the show in 2014 in a way which I can only describe as hate watching because I thought they were going to make the show like naruto but volleyball and it sounded dumb in my head but right about these block of episodes was when I started getting invested. 10 years later, after watching the anime from start to finish twice, reading the manga twice, watch loads of reactions and watching the movie twice I can now honestly say this is my top 2 favourite series. 2024-08-14 17:48:43 +0000 UTCcompletely understand the takes on hinata, he was not even top 10 for a lot of people early on since he represented a lot of anime tropes. try to give him some grace though and let my boy C O O K. also he’s the worst in the team so far purely bcs he never had proper coaching. remeber in junior high, they didn’t have a boy’s volleyball team, it was a fan club. so hinata “learned” the basics from watching the girl’s team and practicing against a wall in a hallway. so in terms of volleyball techniques and basics hinata only knows “follow ball, jump high, smack it” and that’s about it. his lack of experience becomes REALLY noticeable the more matches they play, can’t wait for yall to see it!

Daichi's VA is also Rengoku's (I love him SO much) VA. I think Satoshi Hino is so talented and does an amazing job in Haikyuu and Demon Slayer both. Daichi and Rengoku also give off somewhat similar vibes, and I just think that the VA has a voice very well suited to mature, reliable characters:)) Oh also! Nishinoya's VA is Nobuhiko Okamoto! He's REALLY REALLY well known among the anime fandom community for being a phenomenal VA. His best known role would probably be Bakugo Katsuki from My Hero Academia (which I'm hoping will be on your channel eventually because I love that anime too), and he also voices Genya from Demon Slayer! He does such a great job as Nishinoya. His VA was cast so well, and both the VA and the character give off the same vibes (he is also very bouncy and chaotic)!

And the next few eps are peak character interactions and development so I’m hoping Carter loves them. Cannon’s hope for romance is so cute too, can’t say there will be a lot but the little moments will be there 🫶 I’m still holding out for McKay once the matches and tournaments start, especially for end of S1 and if they get around to S2. Guy is getting too much hate for being quiet; when I first subbed to the channel I always thought he was the most quiet and reserved in his reactions, save for Naruto because it’s his fave show. Let the man chill, he’ll come around if and when he’s ready! Plus all the other boys are getting more and more hyped as the show goes on, which is more than enough for me!

I'm glad you seem to be enjoying this show more and more. I feel like McKay is a bit stuck on how many episodes there are ahead to let himself enjoy the actual episodes. But the thing about sports anime /manga is that they can afford to be very long because the best anime trope, as far as I'm concerned, is naturally and effortlessly embedded in the genre; TOURNAMENT ARCS And just FYI if you don't already know, there is this superstition in Japan that when you sneeze it means someone is talking about you. Haikyuu does it a lot when characters are talking about someone else and they cut to that person sneezing.

Aoba Johsai doesnt follow this theme but the two other teams mentioned in these episodes do. Nekoma has the word Neko meaning cat. Shiratorizawa has the word Shiratori meaning swan but the kanji used to spell it also simply mean white bird.

2024-08-14 10:36:11 +0000 UTCsince everyone was talking about oikawa the last time, i continued watching the episodes and now im almost finishing season 2, and i can’t believe i ended up liking it (this not to set up expectations, just my opinion). i know it may have some weakness for some people, like the humor or hinata’s childish and noisy personality for example, but since its more like a slice of life anime, i personally don’t mind it, and nothing can get me as much as zenitsu anymore i swear lol. overall, what ive liked the most have been the characters and their interactions (i really like the voice cast). also, the show has had some really cool shots, and i may not be very invested in volleyball, but because of them, i got excited whenever they played. i always like the before and after discussions and im glad you guys are liking it, even if its just a little. ALSO, am i the only one that at least wants to hear mckay rant about this show? it will be a funny contrast (he probably wont but still 😆)

Since the beginning most of the gek fanboys had been dogging haikyuu for the better part of a year and I don’t want them to see those comments and now think of haikyuu in a negative light. I’m not saying they’re followers but seeing constant hate and disapproval of a show can subconsciously shift someone’s thoughts especially when they’re just starting out. I just dislike seeing people hate on this show under posts of this show because they’re unnecessary comments. I don’t outright think you were hating, but the comment you made about “suffering with McKay” just irritated me because it sounded like you’re forcing yourself to watch it and haikyuu shouldn’t be a show people force themselves to watch. Since last year on this page the haikyuu Name has had nothing but hate attached to it so now we’re finally watching it I just want that hate to go away. I hope you can see my pov. They tell me what I’ll like, and I look forward to it! But in the present I am not enjoying my time. I can relate with McKay and we have a right to announce that. But I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. I didn’t cry about AOT being the number one hated show by Cannon and Carter. They went into it thinking it was going to be trash, talked their shit but I didn’t care. 2024-08-14 07:09:51 +0000 UTCthis reaction showed me everything i needed to know in the best way. i think carter might actually love this show by the time it finishes bc of his comments about the characters and their interactions. i was binging carlie and ange’s haikyuu reactions yesterday (geks put me in the mood now it’s all i wanna watch 😭) and ange basically summed up why i and many people who watch the show love it so much, regardless of how they feel about volleyball, or even sports as a whole: “like it’s a sports anime, i don’t know what i expected coming into it, but i didn’t expect him [furudate, the author] to give the characters this amount of.. love. what it looks it me is he loves all the characters he’s written. this guy, he loves all the characters, and he loves them from the opposing teams too. i rarely ever get chills when an antagonist is doing something, but (redacted, redacted, spoiler, spoiler)…” i paraphrased for brevity’s sake ange was saying this in the commentary for arguably one of the most hype moments of the entire series (yes THE moment), but, imo, the foundation for all that hype is the character work that went into it. i think watching haikyuu, it becomes so easy to care about each and every character bc it becomes more and more evident that the author himself did, as well. it’s like eating a home cooked meal, or getting a handmade gift that you know took a lot of time, effort, and thought. when things are made with love, i think it makes a tangible difference for those on the receiving end, and i think haikyuu’s character ensemble is a testament to that. sorry if that’s kinda cornyyy, this show is just everything to me. i literally become take-chan when i watch these boys play 😭

He's allowed on the court because he's the only one that can match up with Kageyama's "unreal toss," the toss that has the ball delivered straight to Hinata's point of contact. Thus, Hinata usually doesn't open his eyes when hitting that toss. These details will be elevated as the show goes on. Haikyu is definitely my comfort anime. Hope you guys will enjoy it!!!!

They always speak up, whether it’s to point out stuff they liked or disliked in an episode & that’s how things should be. It lets us know that they are paying attention to what’s going on, these type of reactions are the best in my opinion. I’m also enjoying how invested Jack is with Haikyuu, he’s goated. I’m still holding out for McKay but it’s fine if he doesn’t enjoy it. At the end of the day, that’s just how it is. I just hope he continues to voice his thoughts on some episodes from time to time

Thats great story telling!! Also, the GEKS might think the plays were unrealistic but volleyball players who watched this anime ctually thinks most of the plays were realistic in a real game!

He’s just that dude, that’s why he’s in my top 3 favourite characters in Haikyuu but I do love the respect and awareness the Geks show towards Daichi. Our captain really is the goat and so is Suga, they are popular amongst the fandom for sure but they do get overlooked for others so it’s very refreshing to see reactors who see and appreciate them straight off the bat

This anime is a powerhouse of Japanese Voice Actors, because when the manga was created, the intention was to get the younger generation interested in volleyball (which worked). He doesn’t have to like it but he can at bare minimum still be involved. Carter still adds a ton of thoughts in their Naruto series, McKay just sits there with the occasional Naruto reference
