BUT my humble advice....if you guys have any real interest in watching succession, just throw it into the mix. now is the time. even one ep a week. blindwave and the normies (arguably the two biggest reaction channels) are doing it right now so its hot on YT. why wait for it to get older

2024-08-20 06:17:58 +0000 UTCI have a much deeper respect and appreciation for the way these last two episodes went after knowing that most was based on true events and even Mariko's character and story is based on a real person. Knowing that also gives lots of hope for a good Season 2 since they will just continue to dramatize and portray these crazy times with great acting and cinematography.

Now after some time has passed, I am willing to give the writers a chance, even tho I am so completely content and satisfied, wildly impressed even, with how this show ended, which is such a rare thing in entertainment these days.

Since Catholics aren’t big on unaliving themselves but ARE big on martyrs, it was the perfect loophole to get the same end result

When a man commits seppuku, he cuts across his belly, and only after that would his second behead him. When a woman commits seppuku, she would point the dagger at her heart and fall on it. If by chance she didn't die from stabbing her heart, she would then cut her neck. The second would sometimes help by either beheading her or by cutting her neck if she had failed. In Mariko's case, as a Christian, she believed that committing suicide was a mortal sin. To avoid damnation, she would only cut her breast slightly as a symbolic gesture, but her actual death would've been caused by beheading by John.

Because even though he doesn’t agree, he still respects her choice and is there for her. Also the ending is the first time I’ve been actually shocked by a show in a while!
