2024-09-02 18:21:30 +0000 UTCAbout the blizzard controversies, yes they did some really terrible stuff and had a bad work culture for the longest time, but I always find it interesting how everyone hates on Blizzard for it but not on Riot, when Riot had many of the same issues if not worse. Only difference seems to be how their respective PR teams handled it and the how people liked the games Riot was making while people disliked the games Blizzard was making at the time of their respective controversies. Like almost nobody even cared about the Riot stuff and nowadays barely anyone remembers it, but Blizzard still gets called out for it with all the time online and with things like Cannon feeling the need to say none of them support Blizzard. For comparison, Riot games in their sexual harassment lawsuit ended up paying 100million to settle, Blizzard games in their sexual harassment lawsuit paid 50million to settle. Meanwhile if you try and youtube videos about the Riot lawsuit, most of them only have 10k views with 1 video having 300k viewers, while the Blizzard lawsuit videos often have 100k+ with some bigger channels having vids on it that have over 600k viewers with 1video having 3.5mil+ viewers. Having your fanbase actually like the products you're releasing and having a good PR team seems to go a long way to people overlooking scandals.

2024-08-31 13:51:43 +0000 UTCI agree OW was a great game, but like Destiny 2, the second overwatch also fell off for me. I climbed pretty high in comp on OW with the ice devil mei. I mained Mei throughout OW and managed to climb to masters with her. She was so fun to play and troll people.

Dragons, Honor & Glory and The Last Bastion are top 3 for me for sure The 'Marvel' one is such a microcosm of the new era of Blizzard and OW2. All the good things were outsourced, and you can tell certain things were added from the 'producer' level, all of which only made it worse. That was supposed to be a climactic moment of all the cinematics lol

The nostalgic and hype just hits so hard and top of the roof when it was first revealed on Blizzcon back in 2019. Sadly, the whole overwatch 2 situation after is just a mess. It did not live up to the expectation and it's not even close.
