So, I know that they have already responded to us and everything is resolved. But, I want to respond to what HUEWI says. You said you're a long-time member, but I'm not and a lot of people here said they only signed after they started watching Haikyuu, so how could we guess that this was already happening? And as I made very clear, I know that they have things going on in their lives and unforeseen events can happen (I completely understand that), but what bothered us was the lack of warning. Because they were responding to other reaction videos and could take 1 second to leave us a warning. (This seemed like a disregard for us). Reaction videos show them looking at their cell phones. And when it comes to giving and receiving, it's obvious that we're going to expect at least one satisfaction (here I'm referring to giving a message) because we're paying. But, they already responded to us and apologized. And they said they will try to change these issues. And it's okay.

Look I understand your feelings, but old subs like me will understand that this happened a lot during multiple shows like AOT, ALTA, FMAB, Death Note, GOT and more. Like you said these guys have a lot of things going on in their daily lives, and you gotta remember that most of them are in uni. And when they say nothing it's usually cos its a little bit delayed, (like a few hours) and when its a day and more delay they usually update in the comments and if they don't then just be a little patient. So what I'm saying is cut them a little slack, cos people have been saying this forever and it gets annoying when every comment sections devolves into this like GOT did. You can't expect all take and no give.

While other shows I don't care much about missing few seconds slots of scenes in YouTube that i'd watch them there, but Haikyu is different. ☺ I want to watch all and not miss anything even a few seconds. I don't know the number of views other shows in this Patreon get per ep, just by looking at the number of likes per video here, Haikyu is among the popular ones. Question - do they watch too many shows per week? Some shows because of the gargantuan number of episodes, they had to watch up to 10 eps per session. - Do they do the editing themselves? Each viewing session entails editing. Theirs is to edit out parts not needed for this show. I ask because - they have irl commitments ; job, sports life, family, sleep etc - when talking about sleep, I see one or two yawning or trying to not sleep while watching Haikyu. I'm not interested in watching other shows here so I can't tell if it's like that too. - do they watch Haikyu last in their roster of shows that session? Because I remember one of them complimenting an ep of Haikyu saying it's a nice end to their watch session.

Things happen and it's totally fine if the schedule goes off-track a little, they have their own lives. It's just that on Thursday (the usual upload day) they said it was delayed and would be posted on Friday, so understandably, expectations were set that it would be posted at some point on Friday. I think (this fandom at least) is overall understanding, it's the expectation created from Thursday's update that had everyone desperate like a group of crackheads with withdrawal lol There were two separate posts in the anime tier, so it would've been nice to receive a heads-up in one of those posts that Haikyuu would be delayed again so people didn't wait up/keep checking all day for it.

It's not just in Japan that most parents don't go to high school sports tournaments of their kids especially if it's prefecture/district level. All countries in Asia are like that, be them East/West/South East Asia. This is because these tournaments happen on week days. If it happens on weekends, then maybe you'll see more parents come. If it's elementary school sports, even on week days, you'll see some parents come to see their kids. I live in Asia and know a bit of the school life here. Just an FYI, Japan has a total of 9 regions but many more prefectures, 47 in total. So, whoever wins the prefecture championship will be the representative and compete against other 46 prefectures at the nationals.

That scream at the start from Cannon tho💀 To clarify, Oikawa is actually a third year! He's two years older than Kageyama haha! This is his last year playing high school volleyball, which is kind of bittersweet because that means that every game he plays could be his last😭 The thing about the third years stopping volleyball after this tournament is really more of them prioritising their academics instead of a sport that they won't be pursuing professionally. It's very clear that not all of the boys will be playing volleyball as a career in the future, so the third years often stop their club activities after the Interhigh in order to prepare for their finals! Their results will determine whether they are accepted into a good college/university, so it's really important that they get good grades if they want to pursue tertiary education. OF COURSE, they can always choose to stay on the team if they want to, regardless of whether they are going pro! It all depends on what they prioritise! To answer Cannon's part about the last set going to 15 points, I believe that only happens in five-set matches, which are typically played at olympic level games. For a high school game(in Haikyuu), they usually play to 25 points for all three sets! I always feel so bad for Yamaguchi in episode 23. This is literally his first serve in his first ever high school game, against a top 4 team in the prefecture, and with only one week's worth of practice. That's not nearly enough for him to master a serve as tricky as the jump floater. And on top of that, he's subbed in at the worse possible time, when their team is in a pinch (hence the name, pinch server), and when the opponent could overtake them and win the whole game. If I were him, I would have literally shit my pants JHBWHJB 30:43 That "I'm scared" after Oikawa comes to his senses JHBJHB SO REAL OMG I hated that Iwaizumi was such a great friend and pep-talker. I also totally understand the feeling of rooting for teams other than Karasuno. That happens a lot in the fandom HAHAH Everyone has their favourite team and the opponents are so likeable a lot of the time that you can't help but cheer for them too ugh

Man. I started this show unexcited to watch it, however this last half of the season has really blown my expectations out of the water. At the start of the season off really slow and quite boring for me, and when I read the comments from the patreon I thought that a lot of it would have a lot of Naruto like exposition and flashbacks and continue the same trend. However, while it did have that it didn't do it the way I was expecting it would. A lot of the exposition wasn't about explaining the different rules and moves/strategies of volleyball right before they were about to play a match, but using the move/strategy and then explaining it with cool graphics and multiple angle flashbacks. So when we see these new moves it is really exciting and fresh, and when we see them again it gets me a little giddy especially if its a specific characters specialty. Anyway this comment was much longer then I thought it would be, but yeah I'm really enjoying the show.

This is what’s it’s like here in Australia too, school sports in particular isn’t really that serious or top priority unless it’s AFL or Rugby league related. Otherwise every other sport is only taken serious when it’s the competitive sport leagues, the ones where games/matches are normally played on the weekends ( the ones that aren’t associated with schools ) and can get selected to play at higher levels. My parents only came to watch me for those type of sporting events, otherwise all the sports I played in school were just for fun. Just had to get my parents permission sign me off for when we left school grounds during school hours, if we had to play at other school grounds or small comps

The reason why the parents are not there is very simple yet sad. This tournament happened during the week, everyone is working and sadly Japanese work culture is horrible, parents almost never get time off for their kids extra curricular activities, especially if the child is as old as to be a high schooler. And also, there's this mentality that it's just a club activities, something they will stop doing after graduation, so some parents don't even pay attention to that 😅 (not saying this is the case, just things that I have gather from their culture)

About the backstories and familial stuff, that'll come. This show does a good good GOOD job at character development. You'll get attached to individuals based on their struggles, motivations and what they stand for. Not every random will have a detailed story tho. But as far as the main guys are concerned, they will be considerably fleshed out down the line. Season 1 is mostly explaining volleyball and character introduction. The real shit begins with season 2. This show does not disappoint so you don't have to worry about anything. 😁

@anji not necessary they're already putting efforts in showing literal random npcs on the sidelines they can show parents and family members but they chose to keep it realistic to japan, where parent's are not given day offs to attend these events. If you watched the show you can tell it's not about the lack of effort since we do see family members attend.

Someone has likely answered already, but Oikawa is a third year while kageyama is a first year. Two major tournament cycles happen per year, one in the fall and one in the Spring - the reason why many third years leave their clubs/teams before the spring tournament is because third year's are often encouraged to focus on academics & college entrance exams by that point in their year - after figuring out their career path or landing a college acceptance, many third year students hardly return to school in the early year before the spring graduation

the highlight for me was hinata's line "don't apologise! don't make tossing to me seem like a mistake" it paralleled noya and asahi's conflict where noya's whole purpose of being on the court is saving the ball and relying on the team to make points out of his saves. when asahi gave up on even trying to score and even calling those save "meaningless" unless they score points undermined noya's whole role in the team. all his saves were called meaningless unless they lead to a point. it feels shitty when your role is clear and you understand it well, but having your teammate think they're the only ones integral to winning is really depressing (even when they don't realize it.) volleyball IS a team sport it relies on all six players to do their roles and no one solely is responsible to winning and losing points, all the team's plays shape a victory and losses, you just gotta do what you can in that moment. Hinata kind of started to realize that here when he said that line, coming from basically playing alone in junior high to finally being part of a team and slowly understanding the idea of team play, having kageyama slap him with "sorry i thought tossing to you would get us to win guess i was wrong" literally was a slap to the face to hinata. I love that we got a loss here, especially with the "invincible freak quick" not only is it a lesson to our main two, it's a wakeup call to the whole team that they are still lacking in so many ways. facing seijoh and oikawa served it's purpose of showcasing this whole theme of "six good players in a team makes a strong team" where karasuno kind of relied on hinata's and kageyama's quick so much without really knowing how to utilize other play styles.

So if Daichi, Suga & Asahi leave, Karasuno will most probably not have a strong team for Spring Tournament. Karasuno would have lost 2 strong regular players; Daichi & Asahi. Suga included. Who will fill their spots? Well, there's the 3 2nd Years Ennoshita, Kinoshita & Narita. They're not up to that level yet to be ready within a few months to go far into Spring Tournament. Oikawa is the most relatable character in the first stretch of the series. I still cant understand why people hate him so, when the only difference between Seijoh and Karasuno is that we actually follow Karasunos journey, thats why it makes us root for them more, its not like Seijoh killed anyone or cheated LMAO. The best thing about Haikyuu is that every character is really likeable if people are open to get to know them.

I went ahead and watched the rest of the show after a long time of putting it off. My conclusion: When you love a show you are going to give it very good compliments and hype it up so others can join in on that happiness. But to me, It's just not as spectacular as the comments made it out to be. The whole trope of "I'm going to beat you and go to nationals" isn't enough for me to be hooked. It really is missing emotional connection. I'd give it a 6/10 for story and 7/10 for peak moments/animation. I'd recommend they watch Hajime no Ippo as their next sports anime.

Oikawa is a third year FYI. The Inter-High prelims are the first tournament of 2 for the year. However, third years traditionally retire after the first tournament to focus on their studies and prepare for life after high school. That's why this would be the third years last tournament. But the first and second years still have the spring tournament for the year to play in. Hope this helps
