Dark is an amazing show with so much rewatch value, but it's so hard to watch as a reaction channel. There is so much nuance and you may not catch onto the connections immediately whereas the people who have seen it before know. I know that for me this is one of the shows where I went "this is amazing" and only watched it one time because it's such a mental exercise.

DARK is a really really good show. As u already said right - this is a show like AOT where u have to really watch and listen and remember (as best as you can ) what is happening. I can really recommend like in AOT taking notes on your whiteboard. it`a a 3 season show.... Things will be happening lol. I can't wait to hear all of your theories after each episode. I’ll preface this by saying I’m pro-dub when it comes to anime…but dub live actions are just really distracting because the mouth movements don’t match the words. It’s even more apparent in Dark because I think Germans don’t open their mouth as much as English speakers so it feels really off. It also doesn’t feel as real/impactful because you can tell they’re just speaking into a mic and it doesn’t fit the tone/atmosphere

If the english translation is made well and synchronised well i would suggest you guys watch it in english. I watched it in german and i'm native and further down the line the show gets really complex, i'm mean REALLY complex and you have to pay close attention to follow completely. It's an awesome show and I'm happy something so awesome and complex as a TV Show comes out of germany. Season two came out when is started therapy and the death talk in one episode gave me a panik attack xD, since then i'm rather good with that stuff. Like the other comment from Dio (xD, not only a anime char also walnut in hungarian :D) it's probably better to "consume" the shows episodes closer together, so you guys can follow better and don't forget things, but that's all just a suggestion. :)

Idk how to explain it. Since you have finally started your journey with DARK, which in my opinion is the greatest and most beautifully crafted show ever made, there are some points I would like you to keep in mind so that you can have the optimal viewing experience. I hope all of you read this. 1. First of all, let's get this out of the way. Watch the show in the original language only and do not opt for DUB at any point of time. German is simply miles better. It captures the atmosphere of the show in a way DUB never could.The voice acting in the native language also carries a certain intensity that can be lost in dubbing. (This is coming from someone who has watched the show in both the versions) 2. VERY IMPORTANT : Pay Close Attention to Details - DARK is highly intricate and layered with details that matter later. Make sure to stay focused and catch small visual clues, dialogues, dates, and names. Nothing is random in this show. So I would highly, highly recommend to not glance away from the screen at any point of time. Try to remember as much as you can from previous episodes and even seasons as the show totally expects you to. Rewatch episodes later on if you have the time for it to catch everything. 3. Inferring from the point 2, I would really suggest that all of you keep discussions and talking in-between the episode to the minimum. There will be time to discuss and theorize later on as part of the fun of DARK is trying to piece the puzzle together as a group. This is a show which is tailor made for theorizing and predictions. So once you are done watching the episode, discuss and talk about everything that comes to your mind. Note down your theories if you want to. 4. Pause and Reflect After Each Episode but at the same time do not let too much time elapse between the episodes: The show’s twists and reveals are frequent and mind-blowing. After each episode, take a short break to discuss and reflect on what just happened. This will also allow everyone to process the story better but I would also recommend to not have too much of a gap between episodes since it's very important that events that take place earlier on is still fresh in all your minds. 5. IMPORTANT : Embrace the Confusion This show is very intricate. Probably the most intricate and complex show in history of television, if I dare say. In terms of plot and narrative complexity, it is unmatched. So it's important for you to embrace the confusion. In the early episodes, things will especially seem confusing, and that’s okay. You’re not supposed to fully understand everything right away. Embrace the complexity, and trust that it will gradually make sense. 6. Keep track of character relationships and events. Consider having a whiteboard nearby to map the family trees or events, especially as things get more confusing with time. Each season introduces more complexity, so documenting key info will be super helpful. 7. You can check out the amazing interative guide to the show: https://dark.netflix.io/en It contains episode by episode, updated and spoiler free, mapping of relations between the characters as well as basic information about each character upto that point or episode. It can be very helpful for reference if you are having a hard time in remembering everything and all the characters. All of this is something my friends and I, who were watching it together casually, realized only too late and we were totally lost by season 3. We then decided to start from the beginning again and these were the things which worked. I only hope you guys don't make the same mistakes. With that,I wish you all the best. You have embarked upon a journey that is unlike any other. May you emerge on the other side having experienced something that you would cherish for a lifetime as so many of us do.
