I prefer reading manga more than anime cause some of parts are literally brutal in manga but in anime they censored and changed it softly so that why people always thought op is not wild or brutal like other anime.. the story itself is so outstanding and interesting! if you really want to start op, i still recommend you reading manga instead. it is fine too, if you prefer anime abut you will face some of bad pacing for 100+ episodes.

2024-09-15 10:25:26 +0000 UTCHighly recommend! I disagree with the idea that its however many episodes before it "gets good", imo its good to start and only gets better from there! Grew up watching/reading all of the big 3 and while I've enjoyed them all to varying extents, I'd def have to say that One Piece is easily of my favorite pieces of media in general, whereas I'm not entirely sure how I'd place the others (I'm not really a rankings girlie). Also every single person I've convinced to actually give it a try ended up enjoying, if not loving it too! Even the ones that were haters for literal yearsss (ya, I got some apologies LMAO). The animation improves for the show as it goes (just as it did for Naruto/Naruto Shippuden) and the character designs are something you just get used to I think - maybe cuz I started it young but they never bothered me too much, but even for Carter who said he thought they'd bug him, it sounds as though he's already accepted them as just another part of the world. If you really want a point to aim for in terms of how much time you want to invest, I think a lot of people tend to agree that if you get to the end of the upcoming arc (~ep 45) and don't care for it at all, then One Piece might just not be for you. That arc really showcases a good bit of what the story's all about and some of the things you can come to expect in the future + serves as a turning point for many viewers it seems. Granted I have seen a lot of comments on here talk about getting hooked much later on and running through it after the fact, but I'm not really gonna sit here and say you should watch 200+ eps of something you're not already interested in by then, lol. One Piece is v much about the journey and letting yourself explore and discover the world with the crew imo, and forcing yourself through the whole adventure aspect of it just to reach certain goals would kinda defeat the purpose I think. Edit: Oh also, in terms of the deaths! I think that most modern(?) watchers have been spoiled for those, seeing as how (some of the ones I'm assuming you're talking about) they were shown over a decade ago now, irl - and while it wont have the same shock value for you when they come up, I don't think it makes their impact any less meaningful (especially if you don't know the exact episodes or anything).

I wouldn’t consider if my time was wasted lol even its smth bs, then just stop and let go. I was also spoiled for the death but no it wouldn’t impact the experience . Just felt very sad watching that character whenever he’s in the episode. I dropped 3 times during the past 20 years (not including the drops during Usopp arc). I got past 90 episodes last year and couldn’t stop afterwards. That’s my experience.

I hear from all the sides that it is really good but I also hear that pacing is horrendous and sentences like; just wait 200 episodes till it gets good. That, animation and character design really make me wonder if is it worth investing my time because it will be a long jurney. Like, I saw some vilians and they look questionable ( a big lady with diapers or smth 😂). I also got spoiled for 2 deaths 🥲 but I got spoiled for almost evey death in Shippuden as well and I still loved it. So it would be nice if anyone can answer me about their personal experience watching this show or is it worth it

Technically, the kanji is pronounced (oo - so - ppu) but no one is expecting anyone to pronounce the second U sound in English translations. Since you guys are watching sub and reading the name I know it's harder to know how it's meant to be said, I've effed anime names up dozens of times.

Although he is a kicker, he chooses this fighting style bc as a cook, he doesn't want to tarnish his hands in a fight. This means, he values his hands over his feet. Makes sense as to why he would choose to sacrifice his leg rather than his arm even if it means he will have to give up on pirating.

In the manga the story is more brutal, Zeff saves Sanji without getting into an accident, isolated on the island he separates food for Sanji and cuts his own leg with a sharp stone without making a fuss so as not to scare Sanji, only when Sanji decides to attack Then he discovers that he has been feeding on his own leg...

Although the story of the main characters is great, as incredible as it may seem, the story of the secondary characters is even more impressive, I can't wait for you to get to know some of these epic stories and in the future try to rank the best ones for you, there will be so many of them better than the ones others that I guarantee will be very difficult.

The stuff down the line is super cool and visually amazing but the early seasons are the beating heart OP. I think if you’re learning how to embark on a journey, this is a great show because yes, the goal is the One Piece, but that’s never been the point. I think Oda is still showing us his point, and what the “journey” means to him. I forgot about that shot of Sanji seeing the All Blue with Luffy underwater. Wow.

2024-09-13 06:39:36 +0000 UTCThriving in this one piece era, hehehe Also the reason Zeff chose to cut off his leg as opposed to one of his arms is mentioned in the previous episodes, in the sense that a chefs hands are a cooks most important instrument, which is why Sanji and him refuse to use their fists in fights to begin with. Zeff cared more about being a cook than being a fighter or pirate. Which is alsooo why it means a lot when you hear the chefs comment "Owner punched, he didnt kick..." when he punches Sanji - because Sanji and his dream are so important to him, that he was worth even his hands in that moment. And funny that Carter noticed Pandaman's cameo! He's actually a joke character created by Oda that shows up repeatedly throughout the series in the background and such, so he's just a fun little easter egg! Also just a sidenote! Usopps name is pronounced with an "oo" kind of sound in the beginning, vs a "yu" sound - and he's not my goattt really (Zoro's been my favvv fav since I was little, for reference), but I do love him! And genuinely love all the Strawhats lol, so while I really don't expect him to be any of yalls favorite, fingers crossed he grows on you!

But people just talk abt One Piece to be long like an industry interest but ignore the fact it’s also a result of market selection by audience/readers. The content/story needs to keep good and fresh. If readers lost interest, JUMP would cancel One Piece. That’s what they did to many manga, even some big ones.

I was so involved with the characters, journey, world and story that it makes you feel like your ok a journey and “bad pacing” just gives you more episodes to watch. So yes I think some arcs could be better but at the same time I don’t think it’s as big of a deal for a true one piece fan as people make it seem

You can stop after episode 50 or episode 140 or episode 240, etc. One piece is considered peak around episode 240. Just say it’s a 240 episode anime and tell them to stop watching after 🤷♂️ But atp they won’t and they’ll cruise by 1000 episodes.

But 1000 eps is way too long imo, and I hate it when people say “not watching one piece because it’s long is a bad reason not to watch it” like it is a very valid reason not to watch it, same with Naruto, and yes they are missing out but it’s a valid reason. People have lives and giving your life to watch something this long is bad obviously, and you can’t blame them for it. I feel like if it was paced better it would be way better and more people would start to watch it, which is why the remake is being made.

He even said it in one of the previous episodes when talking to Krieg, he made it clear that all he needs are his hands. As for why he cuts off his kicking leg, Oda answered this actually. He said that what really makes a powerful kick is having a strong base. In his style of kicking combat, the base leg provides stability and balance. Without a strong foundation, even the most powerful kicks would lose effectiveness. And we all saw that it was still powerful (maybe not as powerful as it used to be), but he can still use the peg leg to kick because he has his left leg and arm as base.
