2024-09-19 00:04:25 +0000 UTCThe most minor of Code Geass spoilers possible ahead. For me.. Greed/Ling Mustang Armstrong Bradley Izumi would probably be my top 5. Geass and FMAB are tied among my 4 favorite anime. They both excel in completely different areas though, so it's easy to see why someone would prefer one over the other or dislike one and love the other. Lelouch is absolutely legendary, he (and to a lesser extent Suzaku also) *is* the show. He outshines the rest of the cast by a wide margin. FMAB, on the other hand, is absolutely full of an amazing cast of characters who all serve important roles in a very tightly written story. It's good all the way through, and the ending is satisfying. It makes sense, and it's nice. Conversely, Geass' ending elevates the entire show that came before it, so the less good parts and the mess that it is for some parts of season 2 where it was being made up on the spot without a guide to go off of, no longer matter. The ending is just that good, it's like an ultimate catharsis.

Every other patreon I sub to gives a weekly schedule and I see very few people asking about drops. Because they said they would do it (on the poll about the podcast), it'd be great if they followed through and gave it a try. If it doesn't work, then they could just drop it but my bet is that it will help a lot.

I'll give you an example, they did a poll to ask what people prefer, if have OG Naruto ending drop everything at once and have a 3 weeks with no content or publish everything during those 3 weeks. Everyone vote to publish everything at once. Even with that poll existing and people very well aware there was not going to be any Naruto content for at least 3 weeks, the comments asking for Naruto were still there. Whoever wants to demand/complaint will do it for whatever reason and the Geks can't do anything about it.

2024-09-15 10:48:14 +0000 UTCLelouch character is just savage, his evil laughs always get me, i watched this show both in dub and sub… mainly because way back the episodes are released in sub first, and then dub, so i watched both of them, i have to say Lelouch’s voice in dub especially in dramatic and extreme scenes are the goat, but i dont mind either way really This might be a wild take but for me Code Geass > FMAB mainly because i love Lelouch character so much and it elevates this show to another level, whereas FMAB, i dont really like Ed, but i love the whole story and execution

I don't put this in the same category as those two, and barely put AoT above FMAB. FMAB is a lot more philosophical and allegorical in its meaning and why I value it so much, which can be lost on some people - I get that. I think that's one reason the geks weren't super huge on it. I'd think Carter would get the most out of it out of all of them. But AoT has all that plus much more. Geass blew my mind when I was 18, and it's still great, but there's other stuff out there that has what it offers plus much more imo.

2024-09-14 17:08:43 +0000 UTCI wonder about that, I consider myself as an old generation fan 😅 I watched Gundam Wing and Sakura Wars as they were on TV (that was around 2004) and I was probably too young to appreciate them but I really dislike both of them, and since I got that preconception I stopped giving mechs a chance. It was way in my adulthood that I decide to watch Eva and CG which I'm glad because I wouldn't have enjoy them the way I did otherwise. I'm still not that interested in the mechs anime, but I'm more open to give them a chance, that's why I watched 86 when it came out and I really liked it!

2024-09-14 07:50:46 +0000 UTCEh the second season is a very mixed bag with high high and low lows and overall less well structured than season 1 so I wouldn’t say the show climbs and climbs but the finale is worth it and that’s what really cemented this show. I will be honest, as much as I get that it always comes down to preference but I don’t really see how this show is a lot better than FMAB. Didn’t realise you guys were so lukewarm kn FMAB. Don’t get me wrong I love Code Geass but as much as style and flare is part of this show and that’s what makes it amazing, it also feels sometimes like what a 14 year old would think is cool. This mastermind high schooler who stands on bussiness but has still a heart because pf his sister and is surrounded by all these women falling for him that put in sexual scenes every 2 episodes is a bit eh. Don’t get me wrong again I still enjoy this show but in what way is this on the same level as AoT as some claim (not you guys)

But I swear, not even me knowing the end took away the absolutely amazing development this story has, also rewatching the scene with all the context was 🔥🔥 I have no doubt you guys will continue enjoying the show more and more!

He fights for his little sister and he cares about his friends as well. He can be egoic and maniac sometimes but he has beliefs and morals. Light Yagami in DN was a complete demon, dude didn't have feelings even for his family and his fight for a "better world" was pure bullshit, he killed all those people because of his god complex, while Kira was a great monster in human form, we could say Zero is a great revolutionary leader.

In all fairness aswell, to some extent the geks do indeed “owe” something as at the end of the day, Patreon is just like any market exchange between a Seller & Buyer. Personally, I really appreciate the geks & there engagement with the community and don’t have any qualms surrounding there upload schedule, other than some exaggerative jokes written for laughs 😁. However, that being said, it’s completely fair for a Patron to criticize or suggest something regarding the Geks upload schedule when they are expecting consistency. In this specific instance - it’s been an extra week since Naruto Shippudens expected drop date . I can see why a lot of patrons think that a consistent upload schedule should be the bare minimum as many other content creators in this space of reactions prioritize consistent upload schedules. I know the geks try there hardest to maintain a consistent schedule & it is just that much harder when 5 different people have to coordinate but don’t understand comments like yours acting as if Patrons criticisms aren’t reasonable and instead implying that all there doing is acting entitled, being cringe or whining. All that being said, Jason wasn’t criticizing anything and just wrote a simple comment, don’t think his intention was to be demanding.
