I like to read them as they happen, I just like how it shows how people and places move on regardless of what the Strawhats are doing. I really like this arc in this form without the filler, it has a lot of little gems. Also, it’s really funny to me. But this is an arc that’s funny precisely becasue it’s short. Foxy is not made to be endured in more than short doses, and I mean that literally: Oda made him as annoying as he possibly could, reinforced it by character design and laugh, and balanced his page time with care. One thing I think is interesting with the Zoro and Chopper interaction here is Luffy’s expression. He’s not angry, and he’s not saying anything about unfairness. In fact, I’d say he’s thinking along the lines of Zoro, that he knows of and approves of what Zoro did. Sort of like how Zoro reacted to Luffy in Alabasta when Luffy stopped in the middle of the desert and wouldn’t go along with Vivi’s plan. Never underestimate the importance of wordless reactions in anime! Foxy is my kryptonite. I'll be so happy once we're at the end of this arc. Chopper's moment where he gets serious is great at least.

It cuts all the Comedy aspects, fight scenes and some of the dialogues and leaves you with the bare minimum to understand the Story. If the Goal Is to go faster through arcs Just watch a summary on YouTube. Is this really how you wanna watch the best Anime in the world ? Also peolple say oh this Arc is boring or you should skip that but at the end you guys liked it, for example drum Island or skypiea. As a huge OG one piece Fan who watched it multiple times from the first episodes to the episodes now and basically grew up with it i can tell you watching it normally is much better than one pace.

Its like the skypiea issue x3. This arc is personally better on the rewatch there is some bigtime secret foreshadowing im enjoying.

Hopefully they don't cut out any of the funny moments with Sanji and Zoro in this next match. Especially the moments with the ref and the crew on the sidelines and Zoro's snarky comments of Sanji being the ball😂 When I first watched LRLL I didn't hate it because it was like a nice fun sidequest on their journey and I love getting fun moments like these with the crew. G8 especially was such a fun lil sidequest arc with the crew.

I’m not sure if Jack has seen it yet, but if he has, he should know that S1 spoils a major reveal that you haven’t reached in the anime yet. So please hold off on watching it until you finish the Water 7 saga — it’s just about 100 episodes away (yeah in one piece world it’s not that much). There is so much intention detail in almost every corner & the most impressive part of this which is unique to One Piece is how Oda manages to keep all the parts moving and responding to each other, so each plot point or event as a ripple that is continuously expanded upon. And Oda started this series already knowing the end its like pealing the layers back. The payoff that comes from when plot points weave together and re-contextualise is what makes one piece lore, foreshadowing and world-building so goated.
