Yes, and it's also a good point to stop for the start of season 2.

2025-07-26 21:52:14 +0000 UTCServants lose mana from their wounds and heal it with mana, most can't completely heal their wounds instantly so the masters help is really beneficial. But all of this also depends on the servant.

2025-07-26 20:54:47 +0000 UTCNot sure about the USA but in Canada at least where I'm from Greek mythology was never really part of standard curriculum which is unfortunate because it's very interesting. Most knowledge I got was from movies and other media like Percy Jackson.

2025-07-26 19:39:56 +0000 UTCI'm curious, not meant as critique/hate, but is Greek mythology just not a subject you get in high school in the USA? I guess I could understand why but I just never thought of it and always assumed everyone knows the stories of Jason and the Argonauts, Orpheus and Eurydice, Heracles' 12 labors, the Trojan War, Pandora's box, etc etc. considering how integral the Greek were to the development of statecraft(particularly democracy) and general philosophy worldwide. These myths were basically how the Greek taught/inspired people to be better and are still applicable even today. Fate kinda just assumes people know who these characters are a lot of the time and won't elaborate too much on their backstory except for some brief flashes. It came up with fate zero as well when they namedropped bluebeard/Giles de Rais, but not knowing a somewhat obscure character from french history is to be expected. Even though he was part of high school education I also couldn't instantly place the name when I first watched fate zero.

2025-07-26 19:32:29 +0000 UTCYeah I aint vibin with this nearly as much as Fate/Zero. Its the typical Anime problem where regardless of grandiose ideas and plotlines, its somehow centered on High schoolers. Action goes hard asfk tho. Every time there's a fight, its a goddamn delight.

2025-07-26 14:59:03 +0000 UTCKiritsugu's name was mentioned half a dozen times already in saber's presence....

2025-07-26 13:04:51 +0000 UTCYeah, Saber is just being considerate to Shirou because he doesn't know the old Kiritsugu.

2025-07-26 13:03:44 +0000 UTC(Non-spoiler) I wanted to explain some things in relation to Saber making the Kiritsugu connection because I think you guys are missing out on some context. Most importantly, Fate/Zero was not intended to be watched before UBW, so the Saber/Kiritsugu connection is written subtly in the material UBW was adapted from. (I will always suggest watching Fate/Zero first though, for many reasons, and I'm glad you guys did). Basically, Saber has known since episode 1 when Shirou told her his family name (Emiya). But, what we know that Saber doesn't know is that Kiritsugu changed drastically since her time being with him during Fate/Zero. We've seen several times now the occassional reactions/intrigue Saber gives whenever Kiritsugu is mentioned or characterized by Shirou and Fuji-nee as Saber's gradually realizing this. The most important moment is from episode 1 when Shirou first introduces himself as "Emiya Shirou" - Saber has a reaction to it and exclaims "Emiya..."; and shortly after, Shirou complains to Saber about calling him Master, so she ends up deciding to call him "Shirou" in which she thoughtfully remarks: "Yes. I much prefer the way that sounds". (Also, in Japan, you don't typically call newly met people by their first name, this is a subtlety missed from cultural differences).

2025-07-26 10:33:14 +0000 UTCW drop, excited for the next batch! 54:52 It's a little complicated, but yeah there's only one Assassin. All you guys need to know for now. 58:48 There were always two Grails. It's interesting because in this case the Japanese is more vague in its wording, the subtitles just decided to make the direct reference to the Greater and Lesser Grails (which I don't necessarily agree with). This concept is more relevant in HF (and was relevant in Zero) so I'll refrain from any explanation though. 1:06:27 I've been fighting for stay night before Zero in all these episodes so it makes me kinda sad to hear this 😭 but to sum it up the main arguments are 1) the stay night source material was released before the Zero source material, and you are intended to come into Zero with knowledge from stay night. It's like the last three Star Wars episodes coming out before the first three. 2) watching Zero first eliminates any surprise from stay night's biggest twists. This is big because while Zero is already strong enough as a standalone anime, the stay night anime adaptations don't include enough of the inner monologue to fully flesh out its characters/world (although it is better than I remember it tbf), so it relies on the animation and the plot twists to carry it, in a sense. So by watching Zero first you basically eliminate a big part of what makes the stay night anime adaptations hit. Of course, UBW/HF before Zero isn't perfect because there is no expository Fate route anime to build off of, so I guess I can somewhat understand why you guys don't see the vision. With that being said, S2 has more big moments so looking forward to seeing the reactions!
